I think the Anirudh after Aditya Kapoor is making it plain. Now we know these eye locks are leading no where as the promo also about exam came up.

In the end after Shristi's dialogue both of them was sad . He can actually have a monologue of how he deprived Jhanak her rights which she deserved . Then may be it would have been slightly different .

Now they need to write something different to make those eye lock powerful and meaningful.

With no story progression we have reached these many episodes . Few eye locks and never ending round tabke conferences.
