Her individual relationship with any family members except Ar is not there.

There are only two reasons they accept her -

1) she is from rich family

2) the dislike towards Ab force people to choose next bahu available

I was also suspecting this how come Ab cannot hear what Ruhi is saying. It could be and that could be the only significance of that scene otherwise there is no heads or tails of that scene.
