Abhira smiling represents making peace with the situation and herself. There's no need to prolong it, it was one thing when there was no feelings but she fell in love. The comment of zimmedari and helplessness in Armaan voice when he talks about their shaadi, it's painful.

if she free him from the promise and her then what's the point of being married, when wasn't based on love

I dont think Abhira will ever erase those words which dealt her a huge blow- koi choice hi nahi hai, she is just zimmedari and mein majbur tha. those sentences have made her feel SO insignificant and small that she will not recover from that verbal blow dealt to her.
