Jhanak hasn’t been able to do much of what she wants herself because of her living circumstances, what can she really do for Ani? And in another way, I think Jhanak has done a lot for Ani emotionally by complying to his wishes even if she wasn’t cool with it. Yes, Ani does more of the physical favors because he is in the better position but Jhanak has ALWAYS paid for them somehow because his family never let her actually enjoy them and reap the rewards. It has never been receive and enjoy fully for her. But she has done a lot for Ani just be still staying in that house at her own detriment. It’s clear that Ani is emotionally compensated by her presence EVEN when he hasn’t done the same to her by still saying she is responsibility and fixing dates with Arshi. I feel if JHanak is going to do this thing where she becomes more vulnerable and yielding to Ani because of her feelings, it would have paid off more if it was clear, even if not to others, but to her that she was loved clearly. There would be some form of equal return and stability in knowing she is loved even if it can’t come to pass. Like you said, Ani does more stuff because he is already stronger in resources compared to her. But compared to Jhanak giving him so much of her soul and self, it’s smaller because Jhanak literally has nothing else to give. And she’s giving it to a guy who is showing all signs of commitment to another. It’s like she is setting up herself to keep losing without even having much to begin with and that’s why I wanted Jhanak to truly be independent and bit more successful on her own, I wanted her to also have an equal contribution to her success and not owe him too many favors before the love story started. That way Jhanak could have been a stronger character who can love well, can help in Ani’s character development, while also putting herself first because we all know Ani has demons for a family and he is not flawless. An equal dynamic would have meant that Ani truly cannot act up with her even while dating because she wouldn’t take it. Basically, a better version of Arshi. It’s why my best scenes are when Jhanak is actually strongly defending herself or when she is communicating equally and meaningfully with Ani. Makers should have built her up that way consistently to make them that kind of couple. Because to be honest, Jhanak started life losing, so it would have been a big W if she was a bit more ‘self first’ and capitalizing on Ani’s connections and her pay. That money she earned Jhanak should have either used it to buy stocks or get her OWN place regardless of what anyone says. She didn’t need anyone to rent it for her. She should be eagerly wanting to build her portfolio to get away and chatting with the directors and other crew to get connections on trips like this. All the head bowing and getting used to clean tables feels foreign especially since she is 21 and a college graduate. And it doesn’t matter if she is in love or not. The man she loves is fixing wedding dates, instead of waiting around to cry and be insulted, just accept that you will be getting a heartbreak soon but at least it would be from an air conditioned apartment under your name. What’s it with making the FL so one track but the villainess/parallel lead has the stronger consistency? Shouldn’t Jhanak be planning her own rodeo at least after when he marries Arshi? If Ani goes abroad, would she stay as a maid for Boses and even if he doesn’t, would she be so self-disrespectful to stay in that same house, torturing herself at such a fresh, young age? What are the little ways that she is actually planning for herself? If she won’t get the man, at least make it clear that she will use his assistance well and rein in anything else. She should keep to his words that she is just responsibility and remind herself everyday. When Ani has seen what suffering and unhappiness means with Arshi, he would do what he needs to do. I think after watching Katha Ankahee and starting Jhanak, it looked like she was going to be a self-preserving FL. Now…

Would like to say 3 things-

Firstly Jhanak is staying in Bose House with Anirudha as much for herself as well bcz she loves Anirudha since long time and can't leave him (Makers Have both implicitly and explicitly shown this) and Anirudha has also emotionally done a lot for her not just physically so it's all equal here. All wishes of Anirudha has been for Jhanak's welfare and ultimately she was happy to comply with them. Staying at Basu's house has been for Jhanak's welfare as outside the house her condition would have been much worse

Besides Jhanak hasn't compensated for his emotions as well by saying yukk I can't even think of him as my husband this marriage was a curse for me I hate you, you are like Tejas, You make me feel unsafe, you are characterless, 2 timer, you are trying to sexually harass me (she didn't mean it, Ani too doesn't cares about Arshi Or else would have been married till now)

Secondly- It's easier said than done for Jhanak to live alone and make her way in this Industry all by herself- neither is her life safe nor her dignity as from Tejas to Shrishti and to likes of Aditya all are there to end her existence, Its Anirudha who is selflessly standing tall to save her against all odds (again makers version/their POV)

Thirdly- Anirudha has many times made her feel loved, He may not have realised but everyone else realises that Jhanak is his everything, he can even give his life for her what more to say (and he has done all this for a girl who is clearly showing him that she isn't interested in him which means that he is ready to even accept that she won't love him in fact will leave him forever when she becomes fully safe and successful) and this love may not be typical lovers kind of love but he certainly has made her feel how important she is for him and that is enough for her to fall in love with him and continue to keep loving him even if chances are that she may not end up with him bcz nobody has even thought of doing for her what Anirudha has done till date selflessly putting his entire existence on line (though Ani has not given her full assurance that they will spend their life together as husband wife but neither has she, in fact she has rebuked him many times even though she didn't mean that still, so she must consider this point as well) and also made her feel that she is his 1st priority, everyone can feel this right from Tejas to Shrishti Arshi and Bose family so again I see no reason for her to not love him.

Lastly Jhanak is equally a flawed character in her own right which is again presented by the makers

Unpopular opinion but to be honest let alone our partner even if our parents would have found such kind of guy opening the door of their girl's room being drunk during late night they too would have been angry and scolded it's completely normal, it's not that they don't love us or don't trust us or won't protect us or wont care for us but being angry on us is natural reaction in such situation specially when things are not transparent (like in this case)

1st reaction would always be why did you not strongly protest and tried to make sure he doesn't comes in

Agreed completely. My only concern would be just because Ani selflessly helps Janak,it should not give him license to talk rubbish about her character.
