Where has she expected this? She was optimistic about reciprocation if she confesses but she's been shown constantly asking herself what if he rejected her. So i don't think shes assumed he's obligated to love her back.

Ya ummeed is different than feeling like he is obligated to reciprocate. Anyone in love will hope for feelings to be mutual only na. But she's not a Ruhi to guilt trip him for not loving her back.

As you mentioned, there has always been a buildup to all the consequences of tracks—the Kartik-Naira separation track or Abhimanyu divorcing Akshara track.

Naira did not address Kartik's insecurities, Akshara failed to stand up for herself, and Abhira has been fundamentally wrong in her approach to Charu.
