However, this scene, at least for me, was more for Meerab than for Murtasim though. Murtasim knew she loves him way before this, only that she was reluctant (and scared too) to accept it to herself, let alone accepting out loud. For Meerab, her love had to be forgiving - like his always was for her. She held him accountable for series of presumed 'crimes', emotionally that is what held her back always. One of the last grudge she held against him was the system he represented - Meerab's ideologies were strongly against the feudal system and patriarchal nature that subdued its women and their choices. He was at the helm of that system - so for Meerab, he represented the system, as the leader, he manoeuvred it, he got everything he wanted and wished for - women are rendered powerless, while the men had all the power, and in Meerab's eye, he was the one who had all and enjoyed it all.
The same day of this scene, before going for shopping, she tells him that she knows his love for her, but manogi tab, jab main tumse tum jaisi mohabbat karo - simple, he loves her with all her faults, despite everything, but she is not there, not yet, so she will hold it to herself. So when he revealed that he too lost his passion, had to give up his life choices, had to make sacrifices in this system just like her (and like the girls of the family), that he had not embraced being the 'sarbarah' of the family merrily and that he had no interest in the system he represented which she held him accountable for - there was nothing she could hold against him - seeing him so vulnerable, bearing his heart to her - her love was liberated. She who was stubborn as a mule, knew shedding a tear for his pain and his loss would be the direct give away - not for him, for her(her monologue in Ep. 38), so she held back, stubbornly holding her tears, but when he softly cups her face, the dam breaks - the final shackle is broken, she let go of everything, knowing that she is truly enamoured by the man in front her. I loved the fact that they gave no dialogues for Yumna and she showed all the right emotions in this scene.

I too clocked her pointed words at him “Maanu gi tou tab… jab tumse tum JAISI mohabbat karoon gi” It was a very roundabout way of telling him yes she has feelings but there are things holding her back.
and like you said, when he tells her about his past and how he took on his responsibility as the feudal lord, that dam broke for her then and there.
Which is why I also feel she thought that their love would be strong enough to weather the maryam elopement situation. Maybe that dam breaking gave her renewed confidence in their relationship that it would be strong enough to tackle the repercussions from the elopement. And maybe it would have been enough had it not been for the fact that it was Malik Zubair and how Haya framed Meerab 🤦🏻♀️
its kind of poetic in a way. Murtasim lost faith in their love (something he was so confident about) the MOMENT it became a fact for Meerab. The tables turned in that episode.
)! She had ample screen space, especially for a character that did not need to show an elaborated arc as it was a negative one from the beginning. But I agree with you, except for the finale episode, the portrayal of Haya is mediocre - especially the body language and voice modulations were monotonous - most of the time, I didn't like the dialogue delivery. But she did well in the finale episode - I loved her final close up.
