Two main reasons,

GM, who played Adi openly said he took up the show because this was peak covid, he didn't have any other commitments (Marathi films) he could complete at that time- so for money. He is not a ITV daily soap actor. He did one miniseries on SONY called Shrikanth Basir and another small crime thriller series under 100 epis called Anjaan: Special crimes unit before that, where he is the central portagonist.

Two, because he likes how Adi is not a statue like most MLs are. The story held to that for abut 300 episodes, plus COVID was over he needed to get back to filming his Marathi films. By the time Janmashtami Kaand happened, Adi had to be married the third time, second to his second wife forcefully, the entire track undermined the beautiful character growth Adi had by that time and GM was creatively unsatisfied with it... so had a pretty bad parting from Gul khan and her PH.

Anusha if am not wrong, after Imlie he took part of some dance reality show and a daily soap along with Karan.
