Table-toppers Rajasthan Royals are in action today in Jaipur, taking on the Gujarat Titans. With four wins in four games, Royals have been on a roll despite Yashasvi Jaiswal not getting many runs at the top, and all of their wins have been fairly comfortable.

In Rashid Khan, Gujarat have someone who has an excellent record against most Rajasthan batters except Sanju Samson. Rashid has been off the boil so far in this tournament, and the visitors desperately need him to step up today to form a deadly alliance with Noor Ahmad who looks in excellent rhythm. The two Afghan spinners may hold the key to a strong performance on this pitch here.

And then there was one. Just the one team with a spotless, unblemished record at this year's IPL. The Rajasthan Royals have won batting first. They have won chasing. They have won at home, they have won away. Their batters are scoring runs, their bowlers are taking wickets. And they have cast themselves as the team to beat this season.

RR's run, in many ways, is similar to what the Gujarat Titans achieved in their first two seasons. This campaign has been a little different for GT, though. Injuries have played a part, but a 2-3 record after five games is still short of their standards.

A trip to Jaipur, keeping all that in mind, might not be what the Titans would have wanted. More so because RR are only behind the Chennai Super Kings when it comes to winning at home.

When viewed from another perspective, however, this is perhaps just what the Titans need. An away win, especially against the pace-setters, could reinvigorate their campaign, and tell everyone that they will not give up their playoff status so easily.

There are question marks over the fitness of some players from both teams. Wriddhiman Saha and David Miller from Gujarat. And Sandeep Sharma from Rajasthan. As Miller's replacement, Kane Williamson hasn't delivered yet, nor has Gujarat's batting lineup in general. They might be tempted to make some changes in that department.

In Rashid Khan, Gujarat have someone who has an excellent record against most Rajasthan batters except Sanju Samson. The two Afghan spinners may hold the key to a strong performance against an opposition that's flying high on form and confidence.

First things first, it is drizzling in Jaipur. No word yet on whether that has affected when the toss takes place, but this is unexpected

The covers are on, and this is a dampener (quite literally) ahead of what promises to be a sizzling contest.
