Just saw that Kiron Kher's son plays one of those responsible for Kid's revenge spree... and the intro scene reminds me of SRK's Happy New Year

No such good fortune for me
Any info on how it’s doing at the box office ? Just realized he named the movie after some childhood memory he had with Hanuman and his grandfather
Wow, never seen Kid Cudi praising any movie.
In Germany, it's also playing in theatres that usually don't show an Indian movie...but then, the film is distributed by Universal Pictures and also got good critics.
Dev Patel isn't an unknown among German movie-goers and not only people with respective roots will be interested in a movie that combines action, thrill and a critical view on corruption and discrimination in India.
It clearly is an Indian movie with Oscar-known Dev Patel as director, co-writer and co-producer and with a predominent Indian cast.
Netflix might regret to have sold the movie to Universal Pictures...
Yeah, I don't have any hopes of it releasing in India for now. Even if it does, it will be heavily censored. Netflix keeps toeing the line with film releases in India. This was supposed to be a Netflix film but it was dropped, and then Universal picked it up through Jordan Peele
