Karisma or Karishma Kapoor? - Page 2

I remember reading that her mom named her karisma but people in the industry always called her karishma

Her real name is KarisHma (means Miracle in Hindi/Urdu)

and NOT Karisma/charisma (means charm in English).

She used charisma/Karisma few times in her career to sound cool or different , just like famous Pakistani actress Mawra uses Hocane instead of Hussain for her last name.

The REAL CONFUSION for me is WHY Kajal who is always been addressed rightfully as KAJAL (hindi name) by Ajay in his interviews, by her sister Tanisha and mom Tanuja in biggboss and in all of their interviews, by Kjo and all of her colleagues always addressed KAJAL as KAJAL only, always...then WHY the film titles, audience and media always writes the Bengali version of her name KAJOL and not the Hindi version of her name KAJAL just like her family and ferternity ?

Any answer for this?

Omg Kajol’s real name is Kajal? Tbi mai kahu ise log Kajal q bulate hain. And Hocane is pronounced as “Hussain”?  Didn’t know that either. What’s with these idiotic people changing the spelling of their names like that.

Oh yes, it is KAAJAL and not kajOl. (KaajAl as  eye liner).

I don't understand why the media calls her with the bangla pronunciation when she works in Hindi film industry, and specially when Ajay, Tanisha, Tanuja, Karan johar, Srk and every actor of the film industry always address her as KAAJAL in every interview or discussion.

This is beyond my understanding.

Yes there is NO name like Hocane ever existed. Mawra herself revealed in one of her interviews that her last name is Hussain, but she found it quite common and ordinary unlike her first name , so she herself changed the spelling of it while she was in school in grade seven, but the pronunciation is still as of Hussain, only the spellings got changed.

Her mother named her karisma but Indians were familiar with word Karishma n not karisma so everyone started calling her Karishma. So she went with flow to gain acceptance amongst masses. In those times there was no social media that you clarify n it goes viral n masses were not so English speaking as compared to today. So her sister also got used to it as everyone around them was using Karishma only. 

Babita even named her second daughter as kareena which has greek origin. Never heard anyone else having name Kareena in India. So she must have kept first daughter name as  karisma only.

That's what she must've wanted and told them to spell her name as KAJOL in movie titles. Otherwise why would every movie title spell it that way?

It turned out to be lucky for her

May be kareena is used to it n while speaking in flow she didn't realised that her sister is clarifying everywhere that her name is karisma 😂

All of a sudden Karishma wants to use name karisma again n is clarifying everywhere. She didnt did it even when she got married n left Bollywood. May be some astrologer told her after her personal life got disturbed n career also not going anywhere.

Karisma sounds so weird, especially in India, Karishma hi theek hai.

Babita seems to be partial to Western names, named her daughters charisma and Kareena (after Anna Karenina she claims) 

Or is it Carina? Suddenly some insta post might pop up where Kareena says her name actually is Carina
