I'm slightly confused about the episode today. Why are they not giving enough scenes to Imlie and Surya so there's some growth in their relationship. Today, it was too much focused on Imlie the bahu and her relationship with her in laws.

I'm afraid we will get a fast forward love story if the show runs out of time.

As expected, Imlie gave back to the guests and they were mightly insulted. Surya had to eventually ask everyone to leave and was frustrated with the shame his Tayi had to face. Surya ka whole family specially the Tayi has regressive thoughts.

Nirmala tried ek teer se do nishane - make up for her mistakes before Indhira and kick Imlie out by decorating her room for suhaag raat. Imlie showed her discomfort quite evidently before the family. She should pretend before the family that all is ok between the couple. As it is the family can't see what happens between Surya and Imlie behind closed doors so why give them a reason to doubt and question.

I enjoyed the scene between Chachi and Imlie. This woman is so pure and innocent and a kalakaar just like Imlie. The scene between Chacha and Surya was hilarious. Though I don't understand who has such talks with grown ups? He was talking as if Surya doesn't know kya karna hota hai suhaag raat pe.

Finally we see Surya at the police station. Since Imlie wasn't able to speak to Surya, she packed her bags and ran away to avoid the suhaag raat. Surya tried to return her call, happy to hear Sai speak so much Telugu today. They need to add these tid-bits in the episodes. He will bring her back home tomorrow. Imlie should have waited to talk to Surya before leaving this way. He has not forced her at all and would not force her for the suhaag raat. She again put him in a tough spot before his family.

Few things to highlight:

For Surya, his Tayi Amma and her reputation and demands matter the most. I don't particularly like this fact, not sure how assertively he will fight her regarding her regressive thoughts. He also can't be yelling at Imlie (did it twice after the reception and while searching for her in their room). Can they pls work on his character? Filhaal yeh buri tarah phasne waala hai. He has not yet realized how disastrous this marriage will be if things don't improve.

Imlie needs to pick her battles wisely. The new family doesn't particularly like her yet, she does not have her husband by her side... I am not sure getting them to change their mindset at this stage (specially when she herself does not want to be a wife to Surya in the long term) makes sense.

Next step, Nirmala kaki and Malti will demand for Chand taare because they know Imlie is not ready to accept the marriage..

Also, the family photo on the table with Agastya in the centre was so heartbreaking.

The beginning of the episode felt rushed, as if they left some scenes on the cutting room floor when editing. I genuinely thought I accidentally skipped some parts because what Imlie said to those ladies felt like the end of a speech.

I knew mera Surya ke liye nahi pighalna sahi tha. The audacity on this man to say that Imlie was taking out her anger in the wrong place. I felt so bad for her, not only did she have to hear from the guest but also from his beloved Tayi amma. She outright ignored Imlie and spoke to Surya as if she wasn’t even present in the room.

It’s well crafted dialogues and Jaya-jhi is nailing those scenes. But my heart hurts for Imlie, the Chaudhary’s only recently stopped blaming her for Agastya’s death and now the Reddy’s are also adding their two cents. I don’t believe Surya is responsible for Agastya death but it’s ironic how people blame Imlie’s fate for her husband’s passing, when it’s in fact because of Surya’s fate technically that August Babu died.

I could feel Imlie’s distress through the screen after she saw the room all decorated for the suhaag raat. She at least tried to call Surya before running away, this girl is something else for packing all her bags on Mr. Pinky. That bicycle and her have been solid since Day 1, I don’t know how she manages to ride it wearing lehengas and sharees so easily.

Surya and his chacha’s birds and bees conversation was funny, it’s nice to see an older father figure character in the show. I honestly like the addition of both the chacha and the chachi, they bring an interesting dynamic. Chachi is all cute but there’s some ambitions she left behind in order to step into her role as a wife. Meanwhile, the chacha seems kind of like a bhabi ka chamcha but he’s also sweet enough to take time for his nephew’s “education”. I wonder what their son, Arjun, is like.

Surya’s obviously going to find Imlie and bring her back to the house in the upcoming episode. I hope they have more scenes between these two to build on their bond. Tayyi is going to sunao her either way when she gets home, the least Surya could do is stand by Imlie.

There’s some moments where his guilt makes him more considerate and others where it feels like he dismisses her pain. I hoped that he would’ve asked Imlie if she was ok after the reception but he instead started yelling at her for bringing shame to his family. These are moments where I can’t help but to compare with Agastya, he never saw anything wrong in Imlie speaking up against elders or guest if they were wrong. If anything he admired this courage of hers and supported her decisions in front of the family.

It’s unfair but I’m always going to expect more from Surya because he has a lot to catch up on. He’s respectful because he doesn’t cross Imlie’s boundaries but that’s the bare minimum, I can’t give him a medal for that. Either ways, let’s hope that the next episode is full of banter and good emotional scenes between Surya and Imlie. Aage ki kahani jaane Radharani!

Sunaina mentioned it before, but I also feel like there’s a sense of grandeur missing from the reception party hosted by the Reddy's. Same flower decorations and all but something was lacking in the vibes.

Imlie and Surya got all dressed up, Sai and Adrija both looked so good. But we barely got to enjoy a few minutes of them in those outfits. In comparison, Imlie and Agastya’s reception outfits lasted like 3 episodes.

Imlie came down, they took some photos, the guest started widow shaming Imlie which lead to her defending herself and then Surya asked them to leave. No music, no awkward dance or nothing. She changed back into a simple but still pretty anarkali kurti and he went back to his chapri wale clothes.

There’s theraav in the story but the pacing of the event felt a bit rushed. They could’ve at least kept them both in their reception attire if the suhaag raat was the next point of tension between them.

I think the writers goofed up big time today. It was the perfect opportunity to make Surya defend Imlie before the guests in a very respectful way. He could have kept Tayi ji ki izzat as well. That would make Imlie soften up for Surya, a bit.

Unfortunately, Imlie went all guns blazing at the guests which the family (who already don't like her) will not he happy about. Though I am not liking him screaming at Imlie, I do understand where Surya is coming from. He is the only one jo pis raha hai is waqt. He can't tolerate any disrespect to the family name and if he does not take a stand for Imlie, their relationship wont improve.

Again, you cannot expect Tayi to be happy about Imlie being their bahu. They married without the consent of the family and Imlie till now has not done anything the family will be ok with. If Imlie was neutral in her stand wrt to the marriage, I could point out if Tayi was being harsh. Her regressive thoughts aside, why would she side by Imlie at this stage over Surya? We also need to remember the past with her own son and a similar situation.

I was wondering how she fit that suitcase on the cycle. I always get worried seeing her in heavy clothes riding the cycle. It is dangerous if any of the garments get caught up in the wheels.

The thing is for him to be compassionate to her, he needs to be on a neutral ground. He was mad at the embarrassment his family had to face today. At that point, it will kind of take precedence over Imlie and her feelings. We cannot forget that he is forced into this marriage out of guilt. He is not in love with Imlie. He cannot overnight make Imlie his top priority. When this whole family was introduced, I pointed out that Surya is more majboor than Agastya could ever be. Agastya was raised by his own family so the ehsaan they did on him pales in comparison. Surya was found by this family in a dustbin as a newborn and raised by them. He was responsible for the death of his father (in a way). If we look at all these things, it makes sense why Surya will not go against his family. This puts him in a difficult position if his wife and his family stand at opposite sides.

This was precisely the reason why the writers had to bring Agastya ka video recording to make him go against his Tayi amma ke wishes to marry Imlie. Having said this, I agree Agastya was a more fair person (not sure how much of this I will attribute to his circumstances, his moral compass, his upbringing) compared to Surya. This man has a long way to go for sure.

It’s unfair but I’m always going to expect more from Surya because he has a lot to catch up on. He’s respectful because he doesn’t cross Imlie’s boundaries but that’s the bare minimum, I can’t give him a medal for that. Either ways, let’s hope that the next episode is full of banter and good emotional scenes between Surya and Imlie. Aage ki kahani jaane Radharani!

While everyone will easily sympathize with Imlie, I feel bad for Surya too - he is at the losing end in this marriage. To have a wife who will not love him back, perform the duties of a wife etc. is unfair to him. Funny, how Imlie blames him for the marriage but in order to save Dadi, Imlie did in a way force this wedding on Surya too. He could have gotten away had Imlie been able to refuse the wedding. The bare minimum Imlie can do is not create a scene in front of the family. It is not difficult to pretend like a normal couple before the family specially when Surya is not crossing his boundaries in the privacy of their room. Like Tayi said today about her preference for her ex-in laws, had they been living with Chaudhary family, Imlie would wear the sindoor more easily and behave like a dutiful wife too.

I am not belittling Imlie ka pain and emotions but I feel Imlie needs to be a bit more flexible too so that Surya can be better equipped to deal with the situation as well. Unfortunately, for both of them this is a compromise marriage and both need to accommodate and handle things.

I mean give Surya the same leeway that Imlie gets. The writers are not doing him favors by showing him so non-chalant and so hoity-toity. We have been seeing Imlie for months, so naturally there will be more smypathy towards her. Please tone Surya down and make him more likeable.

I can sympathize with Surya a bit but I can’t bring myself to critique Imlie at all.

We’ve seen this girl always compromise and put other people first. She has never prioritized herself and at a certain point everyone has a limit to what they can tolerate.

Dadi coerced them both into getting married and Imlie’s honestly doing the best she can at the moment. She’s barely holding it together emotionally and there’s still so much for her to process in her grief. Right now, she’s going through denial, she refuses to believe that she’s actually married to Surya so of course she can’t go through the pretence of being his wife. We can’t compare this to the contract marriage with Agastya because that was a different Imlie, one who hadn’t lost the love of her life.

The sindoor and mangalsutra were already big steps for her, we can’t deny that it took a lot for her to do it. Now on top of that we want her to stay quiet and not make a scene when her relationship with her Babu gets tarnished by strangers? We want her to not freak out and pretend like everything is fine when the Reddy’s prepare her Babu’s bedroom for her suhag raat with Surya?

Yes, Surya isn’t forceful towards her but all of this in such a short amount of time is still a lot for a person to bear. She’s all alone with no one to call her own, living with strangers and a man who shares the same face as her dead husband. There hasn’t been a single day of peace in her life. The Reddy’s don’t like her and they have valid reasons to not accept her given how they met, but they’re barely giving her time to adjust. They magically expect her to behave in the old fashioned ways.

I just feel really sad for Imlie honestly ☹️

Bold: I don’t think we’re being unfair towards him for that specifically. Imlie will be lost in the memories of a dead man, a man she loved with her entire being who she lost too soon. There was nothing she could’ve done to stop it either. People spend years grieving their loved ones who passed away, it’s only been a few months and Imlie has barely had a moment.

Even if Surya genuinely loved Anjali, which I doubt they would show because it’s risky. He chose to get married to Imlie after seeing Agastya’s video. He could’ve not shown up and said that his family didn’t agree, they could’ve delayed things and the Chaudhary’s could’ve met the Reddy’s. But his guilt and his sense of responsibility toward his brother made him come to the temple and marry Imlie. If Imlie actually leaves him after that one year, which she won’t, he still can salvage his bond with Anjali because she would be alive. Unlike Imlie, who’ll never get back her Babu.

It is nice to see this badlav in him, I’m not melting yet. But I will appreciate him standing by his decision to marry her assertively in front of the family. I like how respectful he was to not touch Imlie during the photo, the concern in his eyes when putting the sindoor and even how he covered her with his jacket in the car. And you know I’m looking forward to him wiping her tears when she’s sleeping with his handkerchief.

These are all good changes from him but I don’t consider these to be good enough to prioritize his feelings over Imlie’s. I’ll always allow myself to be more lenient towards Imlie because this is the first time this girl isn’t accommodating others hastily at the expense of her own mental health. They’re both taking baby steps, we’ll have to see how they build on that in the next few episodes.
