Farhat Ishtiaq and Hum has definitely expanded on the previous generations and added their story in the adaptation it seems. In the show version of Diyar e Dil, FI had added the first generation's story which wasn't there in the novel, so it may be the same playbook here.

I wonder if JBHSSL is 2 seasons really. First season focusing on Fawad-Sanam-Mahira generation while second season will go more into the Ahad-Iqra-Hania-Khushal generation. So they will still be introduced but their stories may not be the focus.

I am also curious if FI will also update JBHSSL in other ways. JBHSSL has all those things that people trash ARY and GEO shows for. It's got extra marital affairs galore, devar sleeping with bhabhi, another bhabhi trying to seduce her BIL, fake rape accusation, etc. I was so hoping to watch elite viewers/reviewers wax poetic about the same tropes in JBHSSL that they otherwise look down upon and trash in regular ptv dramas

the major plot of the novel was liza unintentionally healing sikander after him going through hell due to which the novel is liked and popular. Other than that it has a very soap-ish story
