Bag Films' Kumkum will now have a comic element introduced with the entry of Sumeet's cousin Krrish. The character will be played by Tankkit Thucker who was earlier seen in Special Squad and Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli.
Anurradha Prasad, M.D Bag Films Ltd says, "Krrish will bring a whiff of fresh air to Kumkum. Though settled abroad, he has his values in place. His character is very different from other principal characters and will be instrumental in carrying the story forward."
Sancheeta Bose, creative head of Bag Films adds, "Krrish is a rather lovable and a cute character. He is a smooth talker and charms everyone in the Wadhva family and they will fall in love with his naughtiness. He is confident but has no malice in his heart. He is very practical and also helps the family in difficult situations. He gets very close to Sumeet and Kumkum and we will have the Dever-Bhabhi track in the forthcoming episodes."
Tankkit Thucker on the other hand informs, "I was doing Special Squad on Star One which got over on October 31. The producers had seen my work there and called me up. I used to play a light character in there also and they wanted a similar character in this show. I guess I fit the bill perfectly. Kumkum gives the viewers a heavy dose of sentiments but my prescence will make it different."
