All, I would say is Jhanak should leave this house .. why is she letting people do anything to her … I don’t think she needs this kind of support from Ani because undergoing this treatment one can only go in depression…

Getting them divorced or even getting the marriage annulled and them marrying someone makes much more sense than this widowhood for Jhanak! It makes no sense to me! No where in the world they have a rasam like this! Has anyone actually seens pics for these rituals?

Right she has every right to refuse. Why allow people to do anything to u or anything with u! She shud just walk out or call the police now if they force her!

Arshi making the drastic step now will force Ani to come on to her knees and beg her to get married with him? Yaar where is the show going now?

She has 10L in her account - silly girl is putting up with this BS instead of walking out. She can easily rent a small 1BHK house. But no, she has to stay in this Bose house for drama - atleast senseless drama na dikhaye

when they ask her to wear white she will refuse as it will declare Anirudh as dead which will not do forget about love / like its basic humanity.

And when Anirudh gets to know about the ritual he will also not allow as it will be making her a widow out of nothing like married life and will be reflecting in her future life an dahe ia too young.

But then this darling Arshi suicide is a issue where Anirudh will fall for it . He always gets affected by anyones tears and is very emotional .

We are assuming so many things and they show some rubbish on screen

I haven't watched any Bengali shows but I can vouch that the original shows must have been much less traumatic than whatever Sitara has been shoving down our throats

Also in Kusum Dola Patralekha leaves just after the leads get seperated and returns in the end just to unite the leads. Ghum has all the absurd things of the world in it surrogacy, parallel lead getting married to the ML and what not

I also think it has to do with Culture itself. I have been roommates with numerous Bengali people during my master's abroad and they were always very elegant and placed a lot of emphasis on education. I don't think the kind of things they showed in Ganjaland Ghum would have flown there. Same for Marathi shows.

If we consider that, I think in most other adaptations of Jhanak they may have or had, it will be either Ani accepting marriage with Jhanak from the get-go and leaving Arshi or Ani-Arshi looking for a partner together for Jhanak and Ani never falls in love with Jhanak if so. This is what happened to OG Adi-Imlie-Malini. Except for Bengali and Hindi(?) adaptations, others always ended up with Malini-Adi being supportive of Imlie's career and a new guy for her.
