Why Neha?

My guess is money. The promotions for a lot of these singing shows, including Idol, were minimal from what I could tell. Maybe they decided to save money on judges too. Alka ji is a legend and probably commands decent money to do these shows. Javed Ali's probably not too cheap to afford either. Himesh does seemingly every show, but he's also making his new movie.

Neha was a big deal not too long ago, but she's been largely radio silent the past couple years. Her star is dimmer than it has been in a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if she's getting paid very little to do this show. It sucks for the audience to not have legends like Alka there, and someone like Javed either. But who knows, if Neha actually reigns it in and isn't unbearable as usual, maybe it won't be hard to get used to it. We can hope right?
