I disagree with most but this one is interesting because Rachel was pregnant with his child. She was happily living with Joey where Joey was paying full attention to her while Ross was dating Mona, Ross asks her to move to his house because he wants to be there for the baby then in final few weeks, he is going out on dates

It was as much as his baby as it was hers, wasn't it? She didn't date for months into the pregnancy and months after it

Shouldn't he be there for her on his own? I always felt weird that Rachel had to ask him for it or he could have let her stay at Joey's.

Oh Monica is super adorable. She is like the person who never leaves you once you are her friend. Like a mother figure who looks after you.

But she is controlling and only Chandler can handle her.

I think writers nailed these 2. You could find so many people around you with traits like them.

Yeah. Monica and Chandler were the best among the lot. Both as a pair and as individual characters. They were so balanced

The writers hit the jackpot with them.

Now rewatching the show, I can see that Mondler were always meant to be.

Ross was bummed about missing baby stuff and that Joey was mistaken as the father. It was Joey who suggested Rachel move in with Ross. Part of it was over his guilt over falling for Rachel, Ross and Rachel both willingly choose to live together at Joey's suggestion.

Rachel does date at the beginning of pregnancy but then decides against dating because it is difficult to date as a pregnant woman.

Ross was wholly present as a father to their child and wanted to be involved. He even wanted to marry Rachel, but she declined because she didn't think they were in love.

Rachel got unreasonably prissy at the store clerk and then demanded that he not date and pay all attention to her. As a single man who was neither married nor engaged to Rachel, he had no obligation to stop dating as long as he was willing to do his share as the father. But he did it because her cared for her.

It is one of the most frustrating setups because both clearly wanted to be together but were too scared of what getting back together meant.

I'm curious why you disagree with most because that is what Rachel actually did.

People saying Monica was controlling and only Chandler would handle her is wrong. Infact there were men who were completely smitten in her love, be it someone as classy as Richard or someone like Pete who was a millionaire. Monica was coming from a life where she was fat shamed even by her closest ones, her mother always made her feel like she was the daughter who couldn’t be as good as the so called PhD boy Ross. In her place, she was the most sorted and unproblematic and never ever took the unbiased or her share of trauma as a reason to hurt others, unlike Ross whose broken marriage led to him being insecure and jerk about Mark and Rachel.

Chandler on the other hand was underconfident and judgmental about most of the women he liked, Monica changed him, handled him, made him secure, made him pursue his dream job, made him a better version of himself and of course killed his biggest insecurity of living alone forever.

In terms of character Monica definitely was the best one, she was a mother to everyone else in the group, she never had a single meal alone

I don't think it was shitty to expect him to be around when she was in last few weeks of her pregnancy. Pregnancy can be a lonely and terrifying experience. He was in a relationship with Mona for the most part of her pregnancy and she didn't care about it but wouldn't any woman be worried as the delivery date is approaching?

It is one thing when you don't have anyone but it wasn't the case with them, was it? They were living together, she was heavily pregnant, she was the one accomodating all the changes in her body, her love life had taken a back seat for months

I mean the LEAST he can do is not go out on dates when she is about to pop anytime soon

If she wanted support during her pregnancy she could have married him.

No one can reasonably expect a single person to put their personal life on hold. Ross stepped up to marry her but was turned down. After that, he did not owe her anything beyond monetary child support. Despite that, he went above and beyond what any Baby Daddy would. She had no right to demand more. But he still gave in to that.
