it also made me sad that Matthew Perry was going through his worst time when he was making us laugh. I dearly miss him ❤️‍🩹

He only got one bride, no scope of mentioning the wrong name smiley36

The most getting on nerve was Rachel. Selfish bimbo.

Monica literally took her in and tolerated her tantrums.

Rachel is ungrateful dunderhead.

Rachel was iconic in her time ( her role was to be a spoiled brat ) my point is aniston nailed her character ) a then phoebe. The pair got this shows their highest ratings by viewers based on articles. Ross was quirky granted the rest were equally good. Until Monica was married in the show she could get on ur nerves. Joey was the cool cad chandler was witty.

Aniston looked good and that was it. Her character was nothing special.

A caring character gets on nerves and a spoiled brat who doesn’t even know how to take the trash out, doesn’t get on nerve?
What are the criteria of getting on nerve? smiley36 Try being a roommate of a spoiled brat and you will run away in 2 months. They are unbearable.

I never for once found Rachel iconic. She was good looking and that was it.
She added nothing valuable to the story. Only her hairstyles were iconic.

for me iconic was

Chandler

Joey

Monica/Phoebe

Ross and Rachel were both annoying with their on n off romance.

Phoebe Buffay. I love quirky unique characters. Phoebe was just something else. She always marched to the beat of her own drum and did not care what anybody else thought about her. I would love to have that carefree attitude in life.

When I was younger, I did not think much of Chandler or Monica. But as a grown-up, I have such a deep appreciation for Chandler's sarcasm and biting humor. And beneath that scathing veneer is a genuinely sweet guy. Monica, too, could be off-putting with her high-strung OCD personality, but she was genuinely nurturing to the gang. Chandler and Monica also made the sweetest friends to lovers story arc. I also think that Chandler is the most handsome of the guys.

I do not like Ross slander either. It's almost become fashionable to dump on Ross. I'll admit, Ross isn't the best boyfriend. He's needy and gets jealous easily and isn't the best communicator.

Carol cheated on him. He's allowed to complain about the cheating and feel hostile to Susan. It shows great character that he not only showed up to her wedding to Susan but also walked down the aisle.

He does sweet things like buy Phoebe her first bike, gives up a TV appearance to help Rachel, is willing to step aside for Joey with both Charlie and Rachel. He's a flawed human, but one with his heart in the right place.

Ross and Rachel were both annoying with their on n off romance.

I’m going based on poll that was taken and things I read when the show aired I was a kid so naturally did not see the show then but later in reruns but those who saw it when it originally aired and it was a long lasting show so over the years opinions n views can change on the characters.

This poll was taken prior to the reunion show and here Rachel in 2021 https://today.yougov.com/entertainment/articles/36003-friends-reunion-favorite-character

got the highest n Ross the lowest( I never said Ross was popular but some did like their blooming romance earlier in the show). In makes Joey was the most popular in polls though yes looks help but Joey the character was cool n suave. In reruns and the show going internationally then yes others would have their own views presently it be phobie the most well liked character overall in the show then it be Joey or chandler. The others would vary at present. Ross would be the least liked character in hindsight. Yes naturally who u like or someone else is one’s own opinion.

I personally liked as mentioned phobie n Rachel chandler Joey the most n a tie as these characters brought something to the show. Ross n Monica’s characters I liked the least. In pairs I liked Ross Rachel n Monica chandler.

To answer the topic makers question it’s tough to just like one character in my opinion.

True. All the characters are just too good. Even though Rachel was most popular but honestly while watching the show I always felt her character was weakest & least funny. The rest of five were equally good imo.
