My issue with remaking the show is it wouldn’t make sense in an itv setting of a hundred plus episodes . It’ll get dragged out way too long and the story isn’t that unique to be remade .

Im a huge IPKKND fan. Huge! Saw it in its prime days while it was airing but even I stopped after about god knows how many hundreds upon hundreds of episodes. Itv gets monotonous super fast. And I’m sorry but Barun was NOT a good actor. At least not at par with his lead. I love him and ASR to bits but Khushi carried that show for me on her shoulders - that and their chemistry.

The thing with Yumna and Wahaj is that they are both phenomenal, well matched in terms of their craft, and it’s a rare thing to get two great actors who somehow click in terms of chemistry too. And for it to not get monotonous.

Last month I rewatched some IPKKND episodes - the whole angst Arnav getting kidnapped bit - and I realised how bored some bits made me. It was so dragged? I shut that down and I watched Meerab’s kidnapping sequence 😂 Literally the thing plus the immediate after effects of the kidnapping lasted 3 episodes or something? And it was done so well? Just the whole treatment was a better vibe for me. Direct and to the point with great moments in between which actually move you. I think I prefer this no nonsense approach more. Although I remember loving the IPKKND Arnav getting kidnapped back in the day when it aired. Apparently now? Not so much 😞

And other than Khushi Arnav I haven’t found any other pairing with that much oomph in itv. It’s been a long dry spell. Miss the old days.

True.There have been many popular jodis in ITV,maybe not IPKKND level but they were popular.So,chemistry should not be an issue in the show.

Really? Which ones? For me IPKKND brought me back to itv a decade ago - then nothing for the longest time - and now it was Tere Bin which led me to dive back into ptv which had been and on/off thing for me. I was the kind of person who used to start dramas skip a whole lot and maybe see the last episode 😂 But nothing stuck other than these two iconic shows. In terms of chemistry, I mean. I’ve seen some good concept PTV but strictly in terms of chemistry these two shows have been a benchmark for me. And I haven’t seen anything come close to it yet.

I mean yeah sure there’s “chemistry”… but then there’s chemistry iykwim 😉 😂 itna crazy level is a rare thing

Have not watched them but few of Gul's shows itself got popular like Ishqbaaz,Qubool Hai,Geet,even Imlie 1st gen the FL with second ML(I loved them).Among Ekta's shows Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.Of other PH-Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi(loved this),Ek Duje Ke Vaaste,Yeh Unn Dino Ki Baat Hai to name a few.

hmmm… yes I can try some of these. I have seen Qubool hai, not in its entirety but a lot of it. It was okay-ish. You’re right though, nothing took people by the storm like IPKKND and Tere Bin. That shit is rare.
Even right now I’m watching shows with sweet chemistry and I love some couples but pretty forgettable down the line.

I’m just saying if they’re going to make remakes of iconic shows like Tere Bin or IPKKND, comparisons with the originals will always be made and I don’t envy those who have to face that burden and criticism. Tere Bin isn’t even an old show so there’s not even a need to make a remake 😂 Just show business as usual, I guess - make money, integrity jaye bhaar main 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

IPKKND can still be called an original.Not to offend you but Tere Bin isn't in my opinion.The tropes of the show are what we see in most of the ITV shows.If I talk about Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi,it had a very common storyline as well.Insecure and possessive mom who has a son who literally worships her.Is spineless and cannot take stand for his wife.The FL is strong and pulls the guy up for whatever wrong he does ,but eventually gives in to her feelings.But the reason it got popular was the way it was executed and the chemistry between the leads.The ML did some problematic things but I couldn't stop rooting for the couple and this is the only Jodi which feels kind of wrong being shipped but I am guilty of doing it(among the shows I have watched).In this show also the ML had anger issues(wasn't physically abusive) but what made the difference was the FL being headstrong.My point being,like most of the other shows it had the leads not being in good terms initially but eventually falling in love.

I know TB or IPKKND doesn't have spineless MLs.They are alpha males.I mentioned the above mentioned show because it also had some typical ITV tropes and still got popular and chemistry was one of the factors.
