As for why Salman and Madhuri didn't work more together, keep in mind that she was first choice for several films with him but she refused them. Bhansali wanted her for Khamoshi. She was his fav heroine and he'd been dying to work with her but didn't get the chance until Devdas. Also she was first choice for Hum Saath Saath Hain but she was supposed to play the Tabu role and she refused because she didn't think audiences would accept her as Salman's sister-in-law and not his love interest.
That being said, I think maybe they had some falling out or some issues. When Salman was complaining about Devdas, he specifically said that Bhansali cast the three main actors because all three were troubled people and Salman was not troubled so he couldn't play the role. I can understand why he would be peeved with SRK and Aishwarya but why did he call Madhuri troubled as well? What was his issue with her? The fact that he felt as angry at her as he was with SRK and Aishwarya suggests there was some underlying issue.
Salman was hesitant to accept that award coz KKHH was an EXTENDED CAMEO/special appearance and was not a supporting character. FF should not have done that to him.
Madhuri always made great career choices, she rejected 1942 a love story to be able to work in HAHK, although 1942 seems like a much much better story than Hahk on papers & at script level...imagine if she would have rejected HAHK 😮
she always had good pulse for commercial cinema.
Also Khamoshi was failed as well at the boxoffice.
Refusing HSSH was another great decision by Madhuri.
I mean come on who in their right mind want to see Madhuri as Salman Khan's bhabhi, and character actor Mohnesh Behl's heroine, that too after HAHK...
Dont know what Sooraj Barjatya was smoking while trying to cast Madhuri in HSSH.
I don't think so there was any issue between Salman & Madhuri ever, or Madhuri had some troubled personality or having troubled life ...most likely it was that weird and quirky sense of humor of Salman (remember that raped woman' infamous controversial comment which he stated just as a joke).
