Finally saw today's episode after missing almost 2 weeks .

Prachi's vanvas getup is intolerable yaar. It's just so weird . The chudamani , flowers , and the artificial curls literally keeps reminding me of how the hairstylist would be doing her hair . It's neither complimenting her looks nor goes with the whole simplicity of vanvas scenario ...

The song being played today was so heartwarming

The scene were Laxman cries seeing Ram's feet bleeding made me tear up . Such devotion . Even he was going through the same difficulties .

The flowers - it says in the Ramayan that she wore flowers in her hair and whenever Ramji saw a beautiful flower she liked, he got it for her and she put it in her hair. So I m guessing the flowers in the hair follows the get up she is meant to have.

They have already explained chudamani in the show so not going to repeat.

As for the curls...well the other option is straightening....

I was teary too...but Ramji's kindness really makes me emotional.

Precap...the acting tomorrow and the whole of this week will be really good to watch.

I know everyone criticises Prachi for her acting but to me the actor playing Dasrath has hammed the most in the last 2 weeks.

P.S. during Covid I read a lot of books on Ramayan and Mahabharat/ Krishna as I was really intrigued by these epics.

In case anyone is interested, the books I have read are:

1. Ramayan: A Modern retelling of the great Indian epic.

2. Sita

3. Life of Rama: based on Valmiki's Ramayan and the earliest oral traditions

4. Forest of enchantment

5. The Ram Chandra Series.

6. Ramayan series.

Thanks for the book recommendations .I have read forest of enchantments . It was nice but palace of illusions was some other level

I understand that flowers and chudamani are significant but it's the way the the whole get up and costume is designed along with the hairstyle and elongated eyeliners . Feels very very artificial .. There is something that feels very out of place in her current look that literally pricks my eyes , cannot pin point what it is .

Dashrath didn't act well .?? That's suprising .. I thought he will kill it . I skipped all episodes after marriage so didn't get to see him. He looked good in the precap though . My heart skipped a beat seeing his condition

Palace of illusions - I have a lot of criticism for that book as I feel the author has written it from the POV of a Karna fangirl and not an unbiased author. I have never liked Karna but we can discuss this elsewhere if you so wish.

To me the chudamani seems weirder than the flowers. Anyways, most likely we only have to tolerate this get up until Kishkindha Kand.

I think Dasrath hammed the most after he heard Kaikeyi's boons. Especially the way he says Raaaammmmmm Raaaaaaaammmn and then holds his chest. I was like who is the director of this scene?

The only scene I like from him is when he holds Ramji''s head to his chest and weeps and tears are falling down Ramji's eyes. I really like that scene. I was also sad when showed Ramji crying but I think he will cry a lot from now up to Raja Abhishek so might as well get used to it. Even the BGM in this scene is top notch.

P.S I just went searching for how long the chudamani stays on her head and well in Sundar Kand she unwraps it from her sari''s corner and gives it to Hanuman to give to Ramji.

So I am guessing she will remove it when she comes to Ashoka Vatika.

That's a long wait . But what to do . Atleast we'll get few episodes without that

I ve just realised this show is most likely going to be at least 500 episodes because there is soooooo much to show even after Sita Haran.

Imagine, a Sony show going to episode 500.

I toh don't seem to like anybody from Mahabharat honestly (Draupadi excluded). Especially Yudhishter

I respect Karna for a lot of things though . But yeah that discussion for another time and place.

Let's see what all stories they show in vanvas here
