I may not agree with the "numbers are facts", but I fully agree with "Jawan is a gem". It definitely is. In SRK's whole carreer it's t h e movie that showcases - in more than one way - his stardom and his personality. smiley27

Somehow - in my mind - it is also a movie that had a special impact internationally.

Even a distributor like AA Films couldn't push the Animal numbers beyond Jawan's success.

Maybe it became somehow 'fashionable' to dislike Pathaan.

I love the movie...and I know why I love it...also with its flaws.

I suppose many of those who claim to dislike Pathaan couldn't even explain what they don't like and why... (I'm even sure that I could counter many arguments uttered against the movie smiley36 ... well, in a serious film-discussion only smiley2)

"good or bad"... quite personal judgement

personal example:

To me, Fan and Zero are good movies (in terms of quality and story), but the numbers weren't as high as I myself would have whished for (and SRK, too).

To me, Animal is a bad movie (in terms of intention and reasoning), but the numbers told the story of many, many footfalls.

That's why I say that ShahRukh should always make the movies he feels that he wants to do, independent if it's for the/his kids or for the crowd or for himself or for his whish to make a 'world-film'.

The audience will either accept (in big number) or not accept the way he would whish for...

To me, Zero has a bad script. I liked JHMS. it is a also experimental movie.

Agreed. smiley20

Like Kangana told to Vanga..

"But please don’t ever give me any role; otherwise, your alpha male heroes will become feminists, and then your films will also be defeated. You make blockbusters; the film industry needs you.”

Similarly may SRK keep giving Blockbusters.. industry needs them

yeah kab hua? smiley24

Kangana ko Vanga kya koi bhi Blockbuster director role nahi dega apne movie mein. Yeah to apne hi pairo par or producers ke pairo par kulhadi marne jaisa hoga. You just live in your dream world, Lady!

You don't understand the significance of Jawan in my life, I watch it every week or whenever I feel low, I'd just start watching the interval scene.

People like different things, only India Forums thinks Jawan or Pathaan are bad movies. Everywhere else they are loved by the masses.

I haven't seen Jawan yet. But I have seen a clip from it. That was Aazad-Suchi scene-'Why I need papa in my life?'. Liked this scene. Loved it. It was a very beautiful scene. smiley9

Absolutely understandable if one dislikes the genre or the subject or the actors/actresses starring in the movie...I won't discuss that because that indeed are personal choices. Also, I would not try to change somebody's opinion, I only would like to know the reason(s).

Negativity towards a movie generally isn't an issue to me if one tells the reason...only telling /writing things like "the movie is crap", "stupid story", "there is no sense in the movie" etc. makes me think that it is just jumping on a bandwagon. However, if one tells/writes something like "I don't like the story" or "I don't like xyz's performance" I can either ask "why" or "what exactly" and engage in a discussion (if possible) or just accept it because I can think "this person has - most probably - at least watched the movie." smiley1

Yet that is valuable for every movie, not only SRK's smiley2.

Yes, it was a strange script...still, I liked it. Similar to SRK playing an unusual role, it also was an unusual story. I found this movie magical, intelligent and engaging...and out of the norm.

JHMS is - to me - less experimental than Zero but also a quite unusual SRK-film (and also the Imtiaz Ali movie I like the most, even more than JWM).
