Is MJ supposed to be older than Zaid ? I know age is never mentioned but she was already married for 2 years when the show started.
I don’t think they mention it but I thought maybe she was slightly older. I’m basing this on the guy she went to college with who looks a lot older than Wahaj. He looks older than Ayeza too so I don’t know. Zaid went to college with Ayra who looks younger. I don’t think they have mentioned anything but maybe it’s part of the reason why MJ never thought of Zaid in that way. Growing up, a couple of years feels like more but once you’ve both fully grown adults, it’s nothing. Is MJ supposed to be older than Zaid ? I know everyone has their theories on what Zaid’s Mein is - his guilt or his stubbornness for Ayra. Could it be both along with his Mein holding him back from fully accepting MJ?

Yes. Rayyan went to college with Ayra and Ayra was Zaid's classmate so these three are of same age bracket and it shows on screen too.

Maybe he doesn't have a "Mein"? There has to be a character who doesn't have it, it could be Zaid. If Ayra was only a guilt then you would have seen them drifting apart after marriage which didn't happen, both were happy together. Writer gave them scenes to show they can be happy without MJ's manipulations breaking their bond. For example they spent a whole day in office and were happily coming home together and MJ saw it then interfered by getting shares in her name. The contrast before and after MJ's manipulations was clearly presented in the screenplay. He didn't accept MJ because he didn't love her, it could change after Turkey trip.

Obviously. Zaid needs to move on from Ayra if he has to have a happy ending with MJ.
Zaid had a monologue in the first episode about Mein. You can guess the ending from that. From what I understood, it tells about either being stuck in the past (Ayra) or have a new beginning (MJ).

You could make an argument that guilt was a factor in his Mein but the narrative now in the last episodes has made it clear - by showing his failure and defeat when it comes to doing right by Ayra - that she was his Mein. His obsession to get her despite her traumatic history, bringing her in his home where she was surrounded by enemies and then ultimately not being a good protector for her, leading to the extreme events that happened. He made a huge decision involving her but then he just wasn’t strong enough to do what it takes.
There’s a reason a lot of stuff is being white washed right now. It’s how the writer is choosing to present the events as a failure on Zaid’s part - sure Asif and Ayra and Rayyan are not kids and they all had a role to play - but ultimately Ayra is Zaid’s responsibility which he took on with a lot of promises and reassurances and he has failed in keeping his word spectacularly. The cherry on top is that he didn’t stand by Ayra when she was literally begging him to - the first time when she told him about Rayyan and the second time in front of everyone else. So he has failed her tremendously. It doesn’t matter how much he’s trying to bring her justice now and looking for evidence, telling MJ how Ayra is the only one he trusts etc etc - the damage is already done.
Hence the scene with Zaid and MJ where Zaid is blaming himself , brought back home even more by Bhabhi’s words to him about him being irresponsible about Ayra and how he needed to do better and be stronger for her.
So going by what they’re showing at the end, Ayra was his Mein. And now he will finally finally let that go because he’s in no position to make promises again. He’s failed her and he knows that. So when she decides to part ways with him, he will respect it. For the FIRST time. And accepting this defeat for Ayra’s sake will be the end of his Mein.
As for MJ - there have been ample opportunities for Zaid to come clean to MJ , to apologize for his behavior to her in the past, but he hasn’t. Now when she presents her with the Khulla papers, if he chooses that time to do it, it will once again show his weakness as a man. He did both women so wrong but at least he stood up for Ayra a lot. He’s never given MJ any respect or valued her. She can’t just be an option for him when the other woman is gone. So the question is if we even want him to fully accept her now or not? Will it ring true? Does he deserve to be forgiven? Or should MJ stand her ground. Thing is… the little progress that happened in Turkey seems erased now… and literally anything is possible. But for me, more than Zaid accepting MJ or not, it’s more about should MJ accept him now or not.
. But for me, more than Zaid accepting MJ or not, it’s more about should MJ accept him now or not.
MJ has already said in Turkey that she doesn’t care if Zaid loves her or not, only her love is enough.
