i miss those rishta days

long gone are those rishta days where every week there's some function, some naach gaana... just some genuine happiness between all the families. I really miss those episodes and those tracks. that was the og reason why my mom started watching rishta and after a while it really became like there would be a function in my home when there would be a rishta shaadi. like multiple episodes of songs, traditional marwari rasams, and family relations. I loved sitting by the tv seeing all these grand weddings, dreaming of my own, seeing everyone's outfits, and then trying to not dance myself with all the music.

even the basic rishta episodes just felt like home. it was kinda like a reality show but that's what was the charm of it. we were kinda just seeing their lives unfold. I will say that og rishta has somewhat shaped my perception of family today. I grew up in a medium-ish family - definitely smaller than rishta and it wasn't a joint family. but just seeing how in the og rishta they kept the entire family together, went through challenges with resilience instead of breaking apart, and how they actually showed a couple growing up together. it taught me that family stays together and how to take all family members together in life. nowadays it's just timepass tbh. I think they're trying to appeal to the younger generation and are just failing.
