I am curious on how telling the truth to Shruti will help. It will be same as Anupamaa saying "Aapko to pata hi tha mere riston ke baare mein" and then he will say "Walk out if you are not comfortable", like Anupamaa left as soon as she was called out for not forgetting the past for the present.

If she walks out, he will easily tell Adhya that he "let her go" for her own happiness and then chase Anupamaa.

If she stays, he will keep bringing Anupamaa in, in the name of festivals, rituals etc. and create awkward situations, until either Shruti voluntarily gives up or becomes a Maaya type psycho.

He is already a hypocrite now and will never become the bad person himself by honestly telling her that he doesn't want to be with her.
