G - Neither... it's just... is not a thing I want... I want to cash in my favor for a promise from you.

M - What sort of promise? How long is this promise supposed to last?

G- ...till tomorrow?

M - Sounds easy! What is it?

G - I want you to promise me that you won't get angry and retaliate against me. For what I have done.

Maan is silenced at this strange request.

His thoughts running a mile a minute.

He is wondering what's the worst she could have done and if he can forgive her and not get angry at those imaginary scenarios.

M - If it's infidelity then I can't promise anything. What did you do?

G - Infi... what? No! Eww!! I just... I kinda used your name in a talk show to take everyone's focus off me... and I also said that you might already be married.

He is listening silently.

She pauses for a moment for him to react. But he doesn’t, so she continuous.

G - I know using your name means …. well... nobody can casually use your name so-

M - You can use it casually.

G - Huh?!

She is not sure what she heard.

M – Fine. I can promise not to get angry or retaliate. But I need some compensation for all the discomfort and the paparazzi and the speculation articles this will give rise to.

G- Isn't the favor compensation free.

M - Favor is free. This compensation is for the later mental distress.

He replies nonchalantly.

Geet is also quite surprised by Maan's response and his relaxed tone.

It seemed like he really didn't mind.

G- Okay. How do you want me to compensate?

M - I don't know. You brought the distress; you figure out the solution.

G - What sort of extortion method is this?

She says with annoyance.

M- Hehe. The fun kind, whatever else?

He retorts with amusement.

G- No…I really regret taking your name…I should have suffered through the show instead.

She says sounding a bit disappointed.

M - Who was able to make you suffer so much hm?

He asks in a joking tone, but Geet couldn't see the dangerous glint lurking in his eyes.

G - Just the stupid host... it's okay... it wasn't that bad actually. I was afraid that he would keep digging into my family background and find out that the masked pasta girl you danced with was me!

M - So to add insult to injury. You are afraid of being associated with me?

G- Of course I am. That time I was a nameless nobody. If people associate us, then whatever I do, whatever I achieve; everything will be attributed to you helping me out.

M - Fine. Fine. I get it. I am an unfavored husband who cannot be shown outside. You better compensate me extra well, okay?

G – Yes-Yes. I will. And thanks.

M - Mhmm. Take care.

G - Yeah bye.

Maan goes back to the meeting in a better mood, looking forward to what sort of compensation he will get.

Geet also starts racking her brain in the spare time. Over how to compensate Maan.

But first, she will wait and see the extent the damage control he has to do. Only then she will decide how to appease him.

Over the next few days, despite the show trying to delete the segment where Geet told the audacious rumor; the video clip was circulated quickly and widely.

Maan was a well-known, well respected, Industrialist, entrepreneur, investor, rich handsome, second generation.

He had featured in many businesses magazines and seen at lot of important events.

Although he wasn't a media hound and preferred not to come in public eye too much. Everyone knew his name.

He was the most eligible bachelor of the decade.

And now someone said he is already married??!!

When the members of man's family saw this. They couldn't help Snickers and chuckle in private.

Of course, they were also the ones the news reporters contacted first to get the inside scoop.

Is the rumor really true? Then who is the missus?

The family members were well trained, and all remained tight lipped only saying- ‘No comment ‘or telling the reporters to ask Maan himself.

A week goes by with no confirmation.

The social media, as well as business circle was buzzing.

Is it true?

Not true?

Which prominent family managed to bag this son in law?

The rumors and speculations keep escalating as no one knew anything or confirmed anything.

That is until a very-very brave reporter put his career online and silently lurked in basement parking of Maan's office.

As soon as Maan leaves the work and approaches his car.

The reporter jumped out of nowhere, pointing the camera and micro phone at him.

R- Mr. Maan Singh Khurana, Are the rumors about your marriage true? Who is your wife? Why is the marriage kept hidden? Are there any unspeakable circumstances? Are you married to a man? Do you have 2 kids already? A pair of fraternal twins?

Maan's bodyguard immediately subdues the reporter but couldn't stop his spiel of questions.

Maan tells the bodyguard to let go of the reporter.

Then asks his Assistant if his hair is fine, suit is fine.

On confirming neat appearance, he asks the reporter if his camera was on, and micro phone is working? Is the camera angle good?

The report truthfully replies yes in a daze.

Here he thought he was going to get thrown out.

But instead; he is getting the first exclusive interview ever with this man!!!!

The heavens have blessed him.

Man says that, since he is in a good mood today; he would answer his questions. And told the reporter to properly record the video and audio.

M - Ahemm. Let me go answer your questions one by one, yes?

The obediently reporter nods to everything.

M- The rumors about my marriage are true.

The reporter steadies his shaking hand at this explosive statement.

M- I got married around 7 months back. Who is wife? Not telling you. Why is the marriage hidden. That’s cos my wife's identity is a secret. Are there any unspeakable circumstances? Absolutely not. We are a normal loving couple. My wife doesn't want to be ambushed in parking lots by likes of you. She wants to be left alone. Be her one happy normal person. So, you all better respect her privacy and wishes, okay? My orientation is straight, and I am married to the most beautiful woman. What was the last question... something about kids? How many we have? None yet. We haven't been married that long. Plan is to have 3-4 kids. But we will work on it. We are young people. We want to travel, explore, work. I can't keep her tied down at home. That's about it, right? Anything else?

The reporter shakes his head in denial, reeling from the shock of information he just received.

M - All right. Keep up the hard work. And don't twist or manipulate any of my words.

The reporter nods yes, swearing he will publish it as it is.

Anyways it is already most explosive this way.

Soon, Maan's parking lot interview sweeps through all online platforms and social media.

Creating an unprecedented, shocked buzz where everyone's first reaction or comment is either bunch of exclamations or a surprised emoticon.

Geet also sees the video soon enough and then throws away her phone to the farthest corner.

Feeling the insane drama Maan had spun will crawl out and ensnare her in it like some live entity.

Unwittingly it reminds her of the saccharine sweet messages he had sent her before her birthday.

Her skin breaks out in goosebumps at the thought.

She really needs to compensate him fast.

No idea what new name he will call her next otherwise.

Well Geet did a mistake but I think it was necessary otherwise reporters would have gone deep & it could hinder her professional life & privacy too

Maan too acknowledged & wanted a favour & Geet called it extortion 🤣 but knowing Maan well she couldn't do anything

So media buzz regarding this & Maan giving interview to the reporter added fuel to the fire now Geet is in a fix what to do
