Yess!!! I knew it. Maan is not so unaffected as he was acting like before… he is soooooo affected even with all the non chalant attitude he showed…. Slowly burning for her  Loved how he missed her, kept tnkng abt her gifts. Finally happy he got something!

Part 24

M- I can't get hold of her.

Maan spoke evenly. His voice didn't sound distressed, but it also lacked any inflections.

Assistant - Her assistant! I have her number. She is-

M- Send it to me.

Maan receives the contact and very next moment initiates a video call.

But the call is not answered.

Not only it isn't answered, but it was also disconnected and next time he tries calling he gets to know that his number is blocked.

M-Her assistant blocked me.

The Assistant is shocked himself.

Assistant - ... maybe...it's unknown number... so...

The assistant tries to start a video call from his own phone, and it is instantly answered by Geet’s Lady Assistant.

He doesn't know what to say to save this lady's job... did she know who she had rejected?!

Assistant - Our boss wants to talk!

He quickly gave his phone to Maan.

M- Where is she? How badly is she hurt? Let me talk to her!

Lady A was quite surprised by the handsome face that took over the entire screen, almost dropping the phone. It must have been her military honed quick reflexes which made her fumble and securely catch the phone again.

Lady A - Ahem….Hello sir. Good evening! Madam is fine. Let me hand over the phone to her.

In the background Geet's voice could be heard asking ‘who is on the call?’ and hushed reply telling her ‘Some handsome guy'

Maan gently taps the table with his other phone in wait.

Geet finally takes the phone and surprisingly sees it is Maan's handsome face gracing the entire screen.

G- Hi

Maan observes her face for signs of distress.

Seeing she looks okay and even gave him a perfunctory smile implied that situation wasn't anything serious.

M- What happened?

G- Oh nothing... nothing really! I just slipped and fell and twisted my ankle. How do you even know something happened?

M- Gossip news. There was picture of you lying on ground looking injured.

G - pshhh... seriously! You don't read those stupid things. I am fine nothing happened.

M- Hmm. Which hospital are you admitted into?

G- Oh…I didn't get admitted. I just had the x-ray and consultation done. Just buying some prescription medicines and leaving now.

M- You need to stay at the hospital. Get admitted and properly rest. Let the doctors observ-

G- What? Why? No. No way. I am already leaving…. leaving right now. See! I am on a wheelchair.

She turns the phone’s camera around and shows the wheelchair she is sitting on and the wheels turning and lady A pushing the wheelchair.

M-You are even on a wheelchair. Where are you not hurt? Listen for once and stay there! I'll come.

G- Not staying. I can hop fine on one foot... but I don't look good doing it. So, the wheelchair. You don't have to come.

Maan realizes that sitting here, he couldn't make her obey and arguing was not affective either.

The mobile tapping against the table gets faster and faster.

M- What did the doctor say?

G- He said it's just a sprain... I just need to apply some cold compress today and give my leg proper rest tomorrow.

M- Quack Doctor!!

G- Huh?!

M- Mail me your x-ray. And don't use your leg. Where are you going now?

G- Sure. Sure. Some hotel… I missed my return flight today and crew has left.

M - I'll send you address. Stay there.

Geet is surprised hearing Maan

M- I have a property there. It's cleaned regularly and stocked with basic necessities.

G- How many properties do you have? Wait no. Don't answer. I don't want to know. But...

M- What?

G- Me going there…won't it inconvenience the person already staying there?

M- Who do you think is already staying there?

G- ... I don't know... your... umm... how would I know...

M - Since you don't know then don't overuse your little brain. Concentrate on taking care of yourself.

G- What's up with you huh? So naggy today? Sure, I'll take care and treat myself well.

Geet disconnects the call, not in mood to hear any more insults or reprimands.

The phone tapping against the table also stops mid-air.

Maan looks at the black phone screen.

He slowly comes back to himself and returns the phone to the Assistant.

M - Tell her assistant to unblock me. Share with her my number and the property details. Get the x-ray and send it to my doctor. Tell the Doctor to call me once he gets it.

The Assistant quietly nods and leaves the office completing the tasks at record speed.

Although the boss talked normally and looked unruffled. The atmosphere was really disturbing.

Within few minutes Maan receives the call from his doctor who confirms the diagnosis and treatment. The foot was indeed lightly strained some proper rest was enough.

He thanks the doctor and stares into the space.

His hand slowly tightening around his phone until the nerves and tendons stood out.

He could recall the Geet's carefree face he saw just now. He could detect hints of pain and tiredness on her face. She wasn't worried, the doctor wasn't worried, the crew also left her alone worry free. Seems like everything was fine and everyone was fine.

But why was he feeling out of breath? Why was his hand shaky? Why was he feeling cold sweat on his back?

Maan focusses his attention back on the documents on his table and sees the soothing image on his computer's lock screen.

He enters his password into login screen and gets incorrect password error.

He tries several times without success.

Finally, he gets up, picks up the monitor screen and throws it across the office. And then throws the keyboard and then the documents.

The monitor crashes against the wall with a loud bang.

The assistant rushes in hearing the noise.

Looking at the messy office, he gulps.

M- Get this cleaned up. It was malfunctioning.

The assistant nods.

M- Cancel my meetings for tomorrow.

The Assistant nods again.

He starts packing up important stuff for his boss.

Assistant - Shall I call the driver, Sir? I have pulled up the optimum navigation route to-

M- Send to me. I am driving.

The Assistant nods along and soon sees his boss accelerate away.

Geet was shooting in a city in next state. It was some 4 hours away by road.

By the time Maan reaches the property.

Geet had already taken a shower.  She Marveled at the more than adequate, over stocked with necessities apartment. Changed into comfortable clothes and settled in the bedroom.

Her assistant adept in all things, unfortunately didn't know to cook.

So, she was going out for dinner and would bring back takeout for Geet.

The two were discussing the dinner options when they hear the doorbell.

Both look at each other all tensed up... Who could it be? Did they get followed? No one knew anyone was living here!!

The lady A gestures for Geet to be quite while the doorbell rings again and again.

Lady A picks up a vase and approaches the door ready for combat.

She silently looks through the peephole and upon seeing recognizes the person.

She immediately opens the door.

Hearing the door open, Geet asks loudly from inside the room.

G- Who is it?

Lady A- It's the handsome g... boss. Boss is here!!!

Maan glances at the face of lady A in without a word and rushes to the bedroom

G- What are you doing here??!!

Geet is shocked seeing Maan in front of her

Hi, nice update dear, geet fell down, have strain in ankle, Maan is worry about her, travel by his vehicle to saw her.

Poor Maan could not handle the news of Geet getting hurt & finally he arranged everything there to make her rest & for proper treatment

I loved how Geet reacted when she received call from Maan to check on what exactly happened & how bad it was. ... Thankfully nothing much happened & Geet was safe & recovering

Maan literally lost his peace even after knowing the everything is fine he drives himself & reached the location where Geet was & she was shocked seeing Maan there

maan not understanding his feeling as love for geet which make him restless knowing she was injurer .

Maan was indeed relieved seeing her

hmm Maan has already fallen for Geet

glad that he told her to stay in one of his properties

sad that Geet assumed that Maan had a lady friend staying there

good that Maan cleared this

Geet's irritation was reasonable

not surprised with Maan's instructions to his assistant

at least Maan got her prognosis

she will be fine

Maan's thoughts well portrayed

oh Maan was really frustrated

Gosh he took his temper out in his office equipment

as expected Maan went to meet Geet

Geet's reaction was justified

Maan so upset that geets assistant blocked his number. Hilarious. Good that means she is doing her job well. look at him being so authoritative with geet ordering her to send the reports and take care and telling her where she should go and stay

So protective worried and caring 

will geet understand that part though?  Or will she just think he is being high and mighty 

Maan ofcourae not realizing why he is so upset and worried even though his doctor too confirmed that she is okay. Not ready to realise this love after all. He has fallen for her
