This line was added for a reason. It summarizes Zaid’s character really well as a weak man. And it highlights the state of the audience after watching him romance MJ side by side to seeing montages of Ayra locked up/panicking at home which ended in assault. When you’re in a state of trauma and your protector is missing and having a good time, this is what you will say.

The way the last episode was directed and this one - Ayra’s words do resonate with the audience and that was the whole point. If you don’t see it, that’s fine.

The first incident with Rayyan was highly inappropriate and disgusting but unfortunately not out of the norm. I’ve been through crap like that myself and took care of just like Ayra did. The fact that Rayyan escalated in his behaviour doesn’t usually happen. Zaid of course screwed up by not addressing that issue right away and I think that’s in there for a reason. He will feel guilty for sure and he should. This is one place that he has screwed up but other than that, he’s been there for Ayra.

I feel nothing is black and white in the show. If Ayra was to be shown as truly just a victim, they would not have her shown her starting that petty war with Asif. They would have just shown her minding her own business and Asif torturing her. I know you may not agree, but audience support keeps shifting. It isn’t my opinion at all, it’s based on comments I see on YouTube and other social media accounts. Just yesterday before the episode aired, ARY posted a pic of MJ and Zaid with some romantic heading and people were going gaga over it. Just hours later after the episode aired, people were like forget Zaid and MJ, poor Ayra! This is has been consistent over the course of the show. When MJ and Zaid got married, everyone was excited for them. When Ayra’s family was being tortured, everyone was team Zaid/Ayra and once they got married and Ayra started making demands for everyone was team Zaid/MJ. This story isn’t so simple, and right now all sympathy lies with Ayra but that can change.

My hopes and dreams for this thread:

1. To see next promo with the words SECOND LAST or LAST episode at the bottom 😂

End this khichri pls 🙏

2. For Ayra to go all in with her revenge. Dont care about anything or anyone else girl. Just make them pay

3. Asif to mysteriously get a heart attack like Aamir so Zaid can finally be free of him lol. Because zaid himself is not going to do a THING 😴

4. For MJ to love herself and make me care

I think next week might be the last week of getting Mein twice a week. BRKRJ will air soon. So main thing for the sake of all our combined sanities - it should end in the next 2 weeks 🙏

I don’t even think Zaid and Ayra are going anywhere anymore because of that BTS scene. Oh boy. Perhaps MJ will intervene, promise justice and have Ayra stay somehow. Zaid se tou na ho paye ga lol. So writer will have MJ do all the work and investigation

We are yet to get the scene where MJ shouts at Zaid behind bathroom doors . That’s most likely a flashback, may be from Zaid’s pov this time. Also there’s another scene where Zaid is in deep thought with a lighter in his hands so big decisions for him to make ahead.

Ayra’s never going to be more giving or balanced than Zaid and MJ because they’re not carrying the personal baggage she is. You said she’s a victim but not innocent - well a lot of that loss of innocence has to do with that family.

You take her behavior as her instigating Asif. But with the level of self sabotage she’s creating for her own relationship as well as mental health, I hardly think this is rational behavior in the first place - this is her derailing completely. She lost her job, the contract she was shown to work so hard for, her husband didn’t tell her about Turkey until the last minute and was okay with leaving her in this miserable state and her Bhabhi kept forcing her to play nice with her tormentor. Who very pointedly showed her her place yet again. That he’ll never accept her.
what happens? She snapped 🤷‍♀️

even not picking up Zaid’s calls - who in their right mind won’t do that? Even if all love is lost, you pick up the damn phone when your husband is in another country with another woman who also happens to be his wife. That’s just basic self preservation. But she didn’t - because all she felt was abandonment 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷‍♀️. It doesn’t matter how many times he calls , he held off telling her about this trip and left her with his dad. It’s all so very convenient so the writer can shove the next incidents down our throats - the lame Tom and Jerry Asif Ayra sequences.

I’m in no way defending Ayra here. Last week was entirely comical writing but I’m just saying that her irrational behavior has been deliberately put in by the writer - even if it’s ooc even if it makes no sense. Just like sexual assault trope today , everything that happens in the plot is just a convenient ploy for the writer to “get from A to B” Just imagine Ayra as the plot with whatever happening to her through whatever means being the deciding factor/turning point for the other characters.

She’s the pivot around which they all revolve lol.

As for audience feedback on MJ - people were rooting for the second marriage so I think there was a shift after the therapist scene, not before. But it fluctuates a lot based on who was right /wrong every week. MJ did get Ayra fired before the Turkey trip so of course audience still can’t trust her. The Ayra Asif games definitely shifted opinion but then just a week later it’s back to Ayra sympathies again. And just one day after we got Zaid MJ content. Since the torture was happening alongside, it just doesn’t sit right for many. Especially since they added Rayaan to the equation. Someone Zaid pointedly refused to deal with at the right time 🤦🏻‍♀️

About MJ getting Ayra fired, I thought it was underhanded too. I didn’t like how she schemed to do that but honestly most people supported her surprisingly.

I think you are under the impression that I love Ayra. I want to clarify that I don’t like her either but at the same time I don’t like Zaid or MJ - they’re all too problematic for me to like. It’s just a guilty pleasure for me.

I don’t think Ayra is innocent. She is flawed but I also don’t like how her flaws are somehow considered huge but Zaid and MJ’s bigger flaws are downplayed. Maybe it’s easier to accept MJ’s flaws because she is a certified problematic and flawed character from the get go and when Ayra acts holier than thou, it’s just irritating. I get it. But for me placing the blame on Ayra and her behavior shouldn’t take away of what Zaid should have done and how.

Ayra exists to test Zaid and MJ’s characters. Not the other way around. Which is why whatever happens to Ayra is the plot and the other main characters “react” to it.

Zaid has been a weak man from the get go. Whenever this man faces a challenge or rough patch in a relationship, he will act out and not behave like a mature person. Remember how he treated MJ when they were in a rough patch? That’s a weak man who can’t stand by his decisions. To this day we have never seen him acknowledge his role in the Nikkah and how unfair he was to MJ. He never brings it up.

Then his promises and reassurances to Ayra. I understand that she tested him a lot. That’s NOT up for debate. But his reactions certainly are. Remember when they were having a rough patch - zaid with Biwi 2 - and he went to punish Ayra by spending the night at MJ’s room? His reaction to Ayra’s action of working late. Being lonely doesn’t make this a proportionate reaction. I’m just talking about Zaid here mind you, not Ayra. Then his Biwi gets fired, loses the contract, and what does he do? He holds off telling her about the Turkey trip and then doesn’t even fight enough for her to convince his dad. He leaves her there when she was already miserable and goes off on this trip. Dont even get me started on the Rayaan bit. That I feel was ooc but again to show his weakness as the protector and savior he promised to be for Ayra. He has failed in every sense for the REASON he wanted to marry Ayra in the first place. Forget love. He should have kept her close no matter what - he should have put his foot down in front of both Ayra AND asif. But he’s like a ping pong ball - makes these grand promises and then fails to properly sustain them.

You’re right about the phone calls though. It was shitty of Ayra not to pick up. But the fact is if he was really thinking of her he would have taken her with him and not left her behind 🤷‍♀️ He wanted to but got shut up by his dad. So he tries but ends up falling flat and being dominated by others. He’s just weak man. Nothing else to be said about it. He has no say in anything.

Imagine him and MJs future. If they ever have a rough patch, he’s always going to handle it not so well. That’s what the show has proven when he’s had rough patches with both MJ and Ayra. He is all sweet and nice and full of promises when things are hunky dory and convenient but he fails at integrity and sustaining promises/decisions when truly tested. He’s just too easily influenced 🤷‍♀️

you may not see it like that but these are my thoughts. Zaid is a very problematic individual which is why his endgame with MJ makes sense. They’re both deeply deeply flawed. When she gives him shit, he gives her shit too. When she’s civil, he’s civil too. It’ll just be like that between them. But if they ever face a rough patch, it’s MJ who’ll be doing all the work lol. Zaid is not to be trusted in rough times

Instead of springing him into action, he’s just having sad times for himself lol. He will leave with Ayra but do so boringly and dejectedly, making this all about his sacrifice. Pretty sure we won’t even see him address the culprit properly - they’re probably saving that for MJ , to confront Rayaan and find out the truth. So Zaid will continue to be a loser.

I know it’s too early to say but the promo is pretty telling. Zaid’s whole body language is showing that he will be more tired than furious. What a weak man, I swear. This is not just about his wife but also about his sister. Anyway, there goes my last hope for Wahaj ever getting a good scene to perform.

Like Ayra aptly put, her Messiah will remain deaf and mute forever 🤷‍♀️

They are staying there! How is that possible after Asif gave ultimatum? Which BTS is this?

Actors are taking care of their own wardrobe, writer and director have no input in it. Wahaj was repeating his clothes from Tere Bin in first few episodes after a point he gave up. Ayeza on the other hand has a team dedicated for it
