I'm damn sure if a good actress was casted as ayra people would have surely rooted for zaid and ayra and would have defended ayras character arc..

So maybe for strategic purpose they casted her, and also because she is a part of the ph camp..

That’s also why she is not part of the OST or any posters despite being the 3rd main lead of the show.

Again, apart from it being the writer's lazy attempt to bring Ayra, Zaid, MJ (and definitely Asif too!) under the same roof, without being biased to any character, the polygamy situation is the fault of all the three of them - Zaid, MJ and Ayra, all three of them are responsible for the soup that they are currently in (and we all are currently simmering within!).

I will start with MJ - she was afraid of the social stigma of being a second time divorcee and being proved Mohib right on the comment that she'll be divorced 100 times (I also think there is another reason, but I'll keep it aside for the time being!), so she was ready to preserve her marriage any which way possible - even as to going into lengths of accepting a second wife in her husband's life. So, yes, the 'two-wives' situation definitely has her hand!

Then comes Ayra - she refused to marry Zaid when he said he'll divorce Mubashira, and was ready to move out of town. Then, she put forth the condition of family acceptance. Now, I first thought it was her way of trying to make it impossible, but her conversation with her bhabi indicated that was not the case. (The best revenge plot for Ayra was to let Zaid divorce Mubashira, take him out of his family and business, make him work for Asif's rival and let Asif rot - girl needs lessons on 'How to take revenge?' or writer needs a wake up call!!). Anyway, in all honesty, she may not have known that a 'second marriage' would have been served to her - her fault was agreeing to that. She went into it willingly - so, she is also responsible!

Now coming to the man of this triangle - from the beginning of their marriage, Zaid threatened Mubashira with a divorce and he also told Ayra that he will divorce MJ - but he left me wondering what he is waiting for, especially after Aamir's death (that 40 days condition)? And when he came to his father (the scene where Asif disowned him) and said he wanted to marry Ayra - his intention was clear, he wanted a second marriage, which again plants the doubt whether he really wanted to divorce MJ. Yes, he blackmailed Mubashira with what he knew mattered to her the most, though I was not sure that he actually believed that MJ will bend and compromise that much, but his hand in creating the 'polygamy' mess is definite!

The statement on which the discussion is being held was that Ayra forced polygamy on Zaid. I was refuting that statement because in polygamy, Ayra is not an active player.

Ayra's concern with Zaid and Asif was independent of Zaid's equation with MJ, Zaid involved MJ in the game by using her to make Asif bend, it was Zaid's method which made polygamy a necessary condition for Zaid and Ayra's wedding

Ayra was concerned with Asif's acceptance or rather Asif coming to her house to accept her as a daughter in law.

Polygamy was made mandatory by Zaid using MJ to get acceptance from Asif, Ayra wasn't aware of it. The deal of no divorce is between Zaid and MJ not Ayra, Ayra is not a part of Zaid and MJ's equation.

Coming out of the story, we know the step was taken so all characters interact with each other under one roof and it worked for them

I think only Ayeza would have been on the poster if not for Tere Bin and Wahaj's popularity. He doesn't have scenes in the drama like 22 Qadam but was kept on the poster for both shows to attract stupid people like us and we fell in the trap. Seeing last episode of 22 Qadam, I have lost all hopes of Zaid shining here

If I think about it though, Wahaj was even on the posters for Fitoor and if I’m not wrong had his own teaser when he was clearly the second lead. He actually had a lot less screen space in that than Azeekah does in Mein. It was clear he was second lead, although he was phenomenal. He wasn’t even in many of the episodes yet he was included on the posters.

I watched last episode of 22 qadam. Very disappointed. There was no proper closure to Wahaj's story. Also no idea about what would happen to Wahaj & Hareem. I understand it wasn't a love story but hw can they not give any closure .

issue with 22 qadam finale is there were 2-3 scenes of wahaj that were CUT from the finale - they are in the OST. Of him training post surgery and the scene of him and Hareem on a bench. So that’s why people are furious. Because they have shown those scenes and not put them in the finale ! If they had not shown it then yes people might have accepted but those scenes were cut . And of course they take away from proper closure for Junaid.

after this I’m not holding out much hope in Mein. Zaid is already sidelined. It’s so frustrating to see dramas mess up their endings and character arcs like this. Super lame

Mind you, people still ARE rooting for Zaid Ayra. That’s still happening

I’m okay with Azeekah it’s just that she is not a consistent actor and needs work on voice modulation. It’s the same in every drama. But she does shine in the angst and torture scenes - I thought she was really great in the hospital episode when Aamir dies. Then the rayaan burn 🔥😂 Chemistry is okayish with zaid for me for both pairings. Both pairs had few scenes which were cute and work for the story. Nothing exceptional in either but good enough 👍

Exactly. He proposes and after his accident it's thrown out of the window though he does say I hate myself bcz I still love you ( That was such an angsty scene. Wahaj was 💜)

Anyway, they should have had some sort of closure for his character where it's shown what he is planning to do with future. Also an implication that Fari & Junaid get back together. But nothing. So stupid & disappointing.
