I must be the only one on this forum who likes RH. It's one of my all-time favorites and my favorite Aamir movie followed closely by Rangeela, QSQT, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, and Fanaa.
I think the movie is too outdated to be popular amongst young generations especially in the social media/online crowd. It still seems beloved by the average Indian populace. When I took a fertility and reproduction class, we watched a documentary on birthing in India and they showed that the doctors would have Raja Hindustani playing on TV during surgeries.
It wasn't a bad movie especially not at the time it released. But yes, totally outdated in terms of content that works today. I think the difference here is DDLJ and HAHK will probably be most of SRK and Salman fans' one of their all-time favorite movies respectively, (for a lot of neutrals as well) and RH won't feature in a lot of biggest Aamir fans' list of top movies even.
Wow, that's great to know. Glad the movie is finding usage somewhere important.

I like DDLJ too for SRK. However, I don't like SRK Kajol as much as SRK Preity or SRK Deepika or SRK Aish or srk Rani
Great you mentioned that. I have also liked the SRK-Preity pairing the most on-screen even though SRK-Kajol is the most popular.

Those movies were not an all-time blockbuster like Raja Hindustani which is why I didn't include it.

Who are the spammers pray tell?
And I never understand people who claim they are bored by a topic and feel the need to unnecessarily bore others by sharing this piece of news. I find that the most tired, or should I say boring, trope.

For me, it being outdated is part of its charm. It's a 90s movie so I want it to feel like a 90s movie, not a 2024 movie. It's a time capsule of that era and what the world was like and conditioned to accept that. There are things from today's movies I find way more offensive tha anything in Raja Hindustani (cough....Animal....cough).
But yes, you're right that DDLJ and HAHK tend to rank as beloved classics for SRK and Salman, whereas Raja Hindustani does not have that unanimous appeal anymore.
Forum has 50 SRK Fans
4 Salman fans
2 Aamir fans.

Nothing comes close to cultural impact of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge
It is still as relevant as it was back then
Voted for Raja Hindusthani because no one else is going to, and also realise its huge impact on the cinema and TV.
No doubt, it is outdated but it is only in the sensibilities execution wise, not emotion-wise, that works in its favour. I, personally, have seen many (especially females) from smaller centres (both North and South) still watch it frequently on their mobiles, etc. They don't matter to the larger public (read online) discourse, so it's okay. It is also a precursor to the massive Balaji soap operas, which did great on TV.
Today, if you, take these three films and remake/retell them according to current sensibilities, it will be Raja Hindustani which will emerge as the biggest blockbuster, "again".
HAHK is a nice family fantasy whereas DDLJ is the same in the romantic genre. Raja Hindustani is still a reality emotion-wise even though as a film it looks outdated to the current generation.
Ghatak another superhit movie released on the same day as Raja Hindustani but went on to become a classic. It is still loved today and very much relevant in 2024.

He recently had his comeback hit with Sitaare Zameen Par. Shahrukh and Salman are nowhere to be seen. Aamir Khan will also be producing that...
