The problem is that people aren't going with what Armaan actually is on the face. Future ka future me bura hoga tab dekha jayega - abhi kyun? Who knows what writers have stored in for Armaan. Kya pta things different ho is baar?
For me Armaan is no where near to a red flag. He went against his family many a times, did take a stand for right even going against his fufa sa fighting the case against Yuvraj ( and by this time Abhira didn't even enter into his life- he had that positive elements in him always). He has been dealing with own securities craving for parental love whose mother wasn't treated well and father had his own issues. Rohit got all the son treatment but all Arman got the step child treatment in the family fulfilling the responsibilities and pleasing rhd family members.
Even in Roohi's case, he fell in love probably with her but Roohi was the one who blocked him when he tried to contact her out of her own trust issues. He got to know she got engaged to his brother and he didn't want to ruin his brother's happiness and so he didn't tell them about their story. .
He promised Akshara and bring Abhira with him, tried to get her POVs and now he has understood like Madhav that Abhira isn't bad but she is a nice human who deals with the issues completely in a different way than him. And hence, started to adore and admire her for being herself which he couldn't like Madhav who likes Abhira for the same reason.
He apologizes whenever he feels he went wrong. The only time he is spineless when it's about him, he doesn't have guts to take a stand for himself but he tries for others- fails yes- but he does.
He has flaws so as others - no one is perfect, he probably is a real person dealing with his own issues - probably he will learn ( I am writing this on what I have observed, not on the speculation of what writers will show further).
