That’s because Pakistan keeps on sending terrorists and attacking India. The Pakistanis who don’t like movies made on these terrorist attacks, should go question their government and demand answers there instead of whining over a foreign movie. When was the last time a Pakistani questioned a URI or a Pulawama attack? Let alone the Kargil war or the other wars. Instead, they sit for hours on end justifying them or even denying that they ever happened.

I very much doubt that there would have even been a partition when at that time the issue would have been Christian people...

Lol what? Your ignorance about the Indian geopolitical situation continues. Please stick to the movies.

The point here isn't about what is happening between india and pakistan in reality, the point is the repetitiveness in movies, people are getting tired of seeing the same thing again and again, i have even seen reactions from many indians who want to see something different, its about movie making and story telling. There is more to the indian army than just fighting pakistan, why not show other aspects, the training, the family stories, the challenges of becoming an army officer.

Top gun wasn't even about a war, it was about them training and the Top gun competition between the army officers, so a army movie can be made without there even being a particular enemy all the time.

But i guess fighting pakistan brings in the money at the box office which is why they go for that storyline.

There's this phenomenon called the hypodermic effect where 'the victims' get influenced by popular media, and you can easily spot some victims right here on this forum. They automatically assume that anyone questioning the intent of such movies is from the 'other' side (in this case, Pakistani), and it triggers their fight-or-flight response, making them feel threatened. It's just a testament to how powerful propaganda movies can be.

Blue and black are contradictory.

I am just saying what the reactions are, many on social media saying they are tired of it being about pakistan again from a storytelling stand point, that obviously doesn't mean the movie won't make money, it will make alot of money because there are many that still love these kind of films, plus it's the only movie releasing on republic day.

It just shows how lazy the storytelling has become, that the same story is being made again and again just because they know it will make money, there are so many more stories they can tell with the indian army that can also be entertaining and gripping.

@NimbuMirchi who wrote:

"just last year Pathaan showed Boko Haram was a front for Jim’s terrorist group. Now Jim is a former RAW agent. "

No.

As far as I know, Outfit X is an independent terror group doing work for other terror groups (for whomever, from wherever) against cash. Boko Haram is only named as one of those who paid for a job Outfit X did for them.

The Pakistani general also belongs to a special (private) terror group giving Outfit X a well-paid job to do.

Outfit X is built out of agents of several countries having gone rogue. As it is a small group with excellent connections and fit in various languages, they also have had a lot of success... until Pathaan gets in the way smiley36

The plot is as daft as Bond & Mission kind of movies... I still don't know what issues some people here have with a highly entertaining action movie (with physics-defying action smiley36).

I believe it's pretty simplistic to think that movies don't influence people's minds. It's one of the most effective tools to shape opinions on politics, war, and pretty much everything. There are scientific studies backing up how it affects public views. Fascists worldwide have used it to manipulate people. Unless it doesn't impact you at all or you're in a position to benefit from it, I don't get why anyone would deny such a basic fact.

So by this logic, India’s fringe group taking offense at movies is justified?

You just proved boycott gang right.
