He wasn't the villain, was more like a strong dad and kind of ruthless landlord

In fact in Punar Vivah they actually played on their previous roles
So she fights with some goons who were trying to snatch her purse and gets them punished. Gurmeet laughs at this and thinks by himself like "wah meri Jhansi ki Rani"(She played Rani Lakshmibai ki Jhansi ki Rani), later she announces to all like "Mere pati bilkul SriRam ki tarah hain"
