Replace a movie with an ideology and you will understand why his own friends felt disappointed with his opinion. It is just a movie for a common moviegoer but for the filmmakers and the creative heads it’s an ideology on the basis of which they make their movies.

Not sure if you've seen the movie, but it's NOT based on an 'ideology' of misogyny. It's about obsessive love a psychopathic son has for his father.

If I'm a friend I'll call him directly, but never publicly smear him to look good in front of the powerful lobby (as someone here said) hating on the movie.

I'd guess these 'friends' haven't even seen the movie for all their judgement and 'ideology' talk.

Avinash Tiwary did Bambai Meri Jaan which is far more violent than anything Vanga has made. It has a rape scene which can give you nightmares.
