Not everything is shown doesn't mean Ankita and her mom didn't speak throughout the day. It was how when Ankita asked her mom about the incident and her mentioned ya they called and said alot.

Maybe this wasn’t shown in the episode, they can’t show everything. Why I believe what she said is true because I highly doubt she would lie about this on national television. If she did so then she would face this later on, she can’t be that dumb.
