Completely agree. I was waiting to see his reaction but the shot didn’t include Zaid. Even in the scene with the police officer, the shot was taken from behind Zaid…at best we got a bit of his side profile. Meanwhile, we have a full view of that cop, lol.

It’s about time we get Zaid’s point of view and I’m not saying this as a Wahaj fan. I was okay with him being sidelined for a while because it worked for the story. Now, I feel it’s long overdue to get his point of view for the plot to progress. It’s an important element in the story. Really all we have are his expressions and even those are cut off many times. The camera was so quick to move away from Wahaj’s face during that smirk/blushing thing he does after him and MJ were bickering. I even noticed that he was smiling and shaking his head while walking away to the bathroom but it was so hard to see.

Badar bhai ki direction toh film school mai padhani chahiye.

In E22, when MJ and Zaid are in the car, and Zaid is kvetching about Ayra, MJ hesitantly extends her hand and it seems she put it on top of Zaid's hand to console him & show understanding. But Badar bhai blocked out the hands touching part.

In E23, when MJ touches Zaid's hand as he sleeps, it looks like Badar bhai took that shoot from behind a kambal obscuring part of the view.

I frankly do not understand these directorial choices. They just diluted the impact of those moments.

If I have to identify Mein's issues around direction and shots, I can write a book on it.

Actually, please do... something to discuss on the show. 😂

I don't know why they do it. To keep the audience guessing? 🙄

These are all significant turning points and they seem to deliberately downplay it...

The only scene where we kind of get to see Zaid’s thoughts

What I felt here was...they just want to keep his reaction unknown. They could actually just have shown a neutral reaction. They have already shown that before. He'll never agree with his father on Ayra- we all know that. He won't deny it or make out of the world excuses for her either. Usually he just looks uncomfortable.

The bickering scene: it's like Wahaj is charging them by the microsecond or something. 🤭

Or they are keeping him in the middle ground between two wives when it comes to MJ. With Ayra, he's happy going shopping, carrying her bags, picking her up after the deal fiasco etc. Yeah, but one thing is...they are all routine things he's doing with her. Just so thankful for that glare scene...at least some interaction between the leads. If Zaid is confused, why can't he have a monologue saying he's confused!

I couldn’t agree with you more. It most definitely reduces the impact of a scene. I can’t for the life of me figure why this is done. Meanwhile, the camera lurks longer on the scenes with Ayra and her bhabi. It always starts with her coming in, something’s going on (students present, furniture being fixed), we have to wait until they settle before they start a conversation - honestly it seems like an eternity sometimes. Even earlier scenes, I’m pretty sure I’ve watched Ayra make an entire cup of chai before the meaningful part of the scene actually got started. The important scenes between the leads meanwhile are cut short or shots are obscured. Is it bad direction, editing or both?

Hahaha at the bolded sentence. Seriously that’s what it feels like 😂

Maybe they are trying to keep his reaction unclear so we don’t know exactly where this is headed. Like you said though, if he is confused, give us a monologue expressing this. It was ok to have things going this way for a bit but getting his point of view is long overdue. I think we’ve all made some educated guesses and if you analyze it enough you get an idea but we need confirmation now. Also are Zaid’s issues with his father just dropped? We’re trying to guess which wife if any he will end up with but what about his daddy issues? I hope there’s some resolution to that.

Very true about his uncomfortable reaction when his father talks about Ayra. He used to take a stand for her but he himself isn’t agreeing with the things she is doing. Still he doesn’t like his father talking ill about her but he really doesn’t have a defence for her.

The Turkey scenes are going to be vital . No Asif , no Ayra, just the two of them . MJ is getting more direct about her feelings now. However, if Zaid really loves MJ then trust me his confession would be dragged on till the very end.

It makes sense only if they get to a point where Mubashira sacrifices something very close to her heart for him...that too without knowing his feelings clearly... He probably needs that to be sure of her loyalty and sincerity towards him. Zaid already knows Ayra won't meet his expectations, but since he settled for a relationship for companionship and not love, he's willing to adjust...until something very close to his heart is threatened.

His relationship with Asif is actually deeper than that, I feel. He's a giver, until his father threatened his individuality. Even then when he has proven his own worth to himself, he's not upset with Asif...it's like he knows his thought process and he knows he can adjust with it because he loves his father. There's no guilt involved in that relationship.

With Ayra- his feelings have changed with his expectations. She's not that person he can blindly trust to back him up ... she looks out for herself first. Asif- he looks out for the business, for his family ...and not just his own selfish gains...he's still a team player. Ayra is a loner actually. She might work for a team to display her skills, but deep down she's very selfish. Still, Zaid is bound to her by his guilt and sense of righteousness. Only she can let go of him now, I feel. She doesn't even trust him anymore, which will make it easier for her to let go.

I often get the feeling this is Ayra's story too. If there wasn't a parallel love story going on, we'd really be watching how her reactions to the situations in her life take her to wherever ...professionally she will definitely be well established...she always kept that above even Zaid - but what will she lose in the process of chasing her dreams. It's a separate show altogether...
