Azekha has probably faced alot of discrimination bec of her religion. I'm making a general guess given that now days minorities are not treated well anywhere with the rise of right wing
But the problem is that she is a bad actress. At her best she is just passable. But mostly she is flat and dull onscreen. So any criticism that comes her way (even though it may be coming from a place of negativity) does sound reasonable... So when she points out the religion angle, people make fun of her and don't take her seriously and agree with the reviewer.
Ps: IM is being extended??? Do they have enough story for a normal run let alone extra episodes
Yes. She isn't exactly a lead material and has a specific way of talking which might not be very likable. She was good in malaal e yaar, cheekh and dunk. These dramas were before whatever she did to her face. She has some work done during dunk as well but it wasn't to the level of affecting her expressions. Before mein, i have seen her only in those three dramas and mein is the first drama where I felt she is plain bad. In the other three, her characters were likeable and during dunk and cheekh badar was also in his form so he was able to bring the best in her as well. She had an entire episode dedicated to her character in dunk and she did well in that episode and she had great chemistry with bilal in dunk. Even in balaa where she was very new she did reasonably well for a new comer and reacted well to that intense scene of bilal's character breaking down. But in mein she just don't have anything working for her.
Then gl and sh watches mein just to bash it and she is the easiest to bash the most out of the three leads. Wahaj and ayeza have strong fanbase and are A list actors. So sh and GL won't go all out with these two. Aamna got an earful for overly criticising ayeza and wahaj mispronouncing one or two English words but nobody even noticed how out of line she was with her critisism of azekha.
I don't get why mein is hated so much. It isn't the best show out ther but it's nowhere near as bad as people are making it out to be. The only flaw is wahaj isn't playing a powerful character and ayeza is eating him alive in every other episode.
IM most probably is extended due to its success and farooq rind is pretty famous for runing his dramas with dragging.
