Oh wow the coaching center wala teacher they showed in the movie is a teacher and actually taught the real Manoj and Shraddha as well
Just chanced upon this clip and aww real Manoj and Shraddha are so sweet too
....unka beta bhi dikhaya is clip mein
This is another long video from the film's screening but seems to have everyone from the real Manoj, Shraddha, the professor Vikas, the author of the 12th Fail book on which the movie is based and the whole cast as well.....gonna check it out in a bit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW0HVVBL59M
*Edit: Just finished watching.....it's a MUST WATCH interview
So different from the typical film screening segments.....the way they covered the perspective of everyone from the writers to the actors to the real life Manoj, Shraddha, Vikas the teacher....it's just soooo heartwarming to listen to them narrating their real life incidents, perspectives. Manoj and Shraddha are such impressive personalities in real life also
....and Vikrant was also heaping praise on the process by which VVC makes films, how life changing this was for him as an actor after having worked for so long. Every person from the cast and crew was genuinely heaping praises on VVC for staying true to the story and not trying to add masala to it like a typical film. The power of saying No
LOL@ VVC dissing Mirzapur....haha I so identify with that cuz mujhse bhi second epi khatam nahin kiya gaya tha
I've become a fan of Vikas after watching this IV too....lol such a witty man. I totally thought it was an actor in the movie but now it all makes sense why he was so well spoken in the scenes....he's a teacher in real life and that eloquent demeanor shines through....the sheer GOODNESS of these people shines through, man....and VVC didn't let it dilute 1% even in bringing their story to screen.
I keep wondering where I've seen the actor playing Gauri bhaiyya before....even Pandey ko dekha hai in some roles here or there....but I guess this was the big break for all of them.....Medha is quite talented too.
A few other interesting things I learnt from the BTS....
-That is NOT brownface makeup on Vikrant....lol he literally lost 8-9 Kgs and went went to stay in the actual Chambal village a month in advance of starting the shoot in order to get that sunburnt look for Manoj ke school days.
-The book came out around 2019 and soon after that VVC acquired the book rights to make the film but kept working on the script all through Covid time from 2020-2021 it looks like.....Film probably started shooting in end 2021 or early 2022 from what I can gather. They've all marinated with the film for nearly four and a half years.....a true community experience in many ways since they went and shot on all real locations for everything even down to the last scene of the USPC interview which literally hasn't been seen in any other film.....lol
-VVC made Vikrant read the whole book in one day before offering him the role....and Vikrant said he cried at many points while reading the book.....they all still cry while watching certain scenes of the movie during screenings.
Another really good IV of VVC where he talks about how music was used in the film and they used handheld camera for most of it

Thank you for sharing all the iv's and updates will check them out soon..
Yeah vikrant's tan actually didn't look like makeup it faded gradually too.. the effort they put in the movie shows in the final product they didn't do a lazy job of copy pasting and do the easy mix and match to do a formula film on these topics they chose the unique ingredients and thus us why it doesn't look like cookie cutter film in the end..
Arre wih Pandey was suku ka pati in that 9months wala show . I mostly rememebr him from.h8s annoying voice

Ohh yes, it's that same guy!
.....lol no wonder he looked familiar....but 9 months se mujhe mainly leads hi yaad hain aur baaki koi nahin
But his character's narration in this film really made it fun....had a touch of how they showed narration in 3 Idiots and PK

oh haan mere ko bhi zyada kuch yaad nahi but his face is what i remember mainly caz of the voice and curly hair baaki show main toh beekar hi tha.. haan here his narration was good
i watched dunki and really liked it Mainly Caz HArdy and Manu...
BUT LIKE ESP in BOLD and UNDERLINE HARDY
like where do men like hardy exist? this is srk at his best in the sense that he is doing The romance but age appropriate and well who can beat him in romance that is done well??? OH GOD that airporst scene had me in tears what a SWEET SWEET SWEET scene but also makes you take a sigh at how mcuh these 2 have gone through and lost but a love so pure really deserve an applause caz aaj kal koi woh emotion laa hi nahi paata dhang se.. also that climax scen OMG it is soooo bittersweet i can't
maytlab it is one of those that makes you go WHY h=ahh why?/ but oh god shah looked so good in the old age getup and mere ko toh coach ji se pyaar hi ho gaya.. the supportign cast was sweet and nice too.. i wpon't say it is best hirani work but it is stil fulfilling enough that it gives you that msuh feel along with something to ponder about the whole migration situation and mere ko toh relate ki and hit hard even though i didn;t had to personally suffer the burdens of the visa thing as our oarents did all that for us.. but it still hit hard in places about how hum actually kahin ke nahi rehte if we had spent a susbstantial amoutn as an adult or grwoign up in our lands. and than had to move.. matlab hum kahin beech main hi phans jaate hain and that really got me... that feelign of being incomplete it does hit me personally in the sense ke Shukar hai sab kuch hai zindagi achi hai yahan we are blessed and can't thank God enough for the privileges we have here as immigrants and now residents too but phir bhi woh jo apne desh ki bat hai the kind of complete you feel back home with all the inconveniences too that i miss sometimes here .
hirani has actually not spent much time on the process of dunki he mostly showed you the pre and post effecs and struggle and journey of it.. and kept the hardships to minimal but still i found the heart in the right palce and it came thru however i do wish that maybe he should have focused more on the journey for those who think ti is a joek to come illeagally( is aw this punjabi film with ammy virk on it i have forgtooten the name of and boy was that serious and heavy ) but that was accurate in most sense even they tried to add a lot of Funny sequences.. hirani doesn;t do that much he kept the seriousneess of the dangers but the duration was so short and fast that it doesn;t get absorbed that much yet the overall film did made me happy caz well it is so rare to get a bollywood film that gets the romance right and gives you the feels..
i lvoed the songs but esp in love with kutt putt gaya and Nikle thay ghat se along with O maahi matlab o mahhi se toha lag sort ka likeness aa gaya hai suddenly..
sukhi aka vicky is the stand out bruh cameo made so much impact
i recommend it solid 3/5
@ spidie mere ko toh chemsitry miss nahi lagii kahin bhi ya tapsee off i infact liked it jitna bhi tha caz wohi hai na aajkal itna bhi nahi kar paate in most love stories and manu just was all heart for me with how psoitive she was
