the thing these companies celebrities are getting dragged for aren’t even things Palestine have asked to be boycotted . The Zara thing I get a bit but Pepsi and Tim horton I haven’t seen anyone talk about boycotting those . Pakistani social justice warriors are just creating their own list to make people look like Zionist sympathizers

I don't care if people want to cancel celebs or not. But fgs, at least be consistent. What is with selective bashing? The attitude is let's weaponize it to cancel the celeb we don't like. But if it is our fave, let's ignore it and/or come up with bazillion excuses (oh maybe they were contractually obligated, oh they may have bought it before, oh maybe they didn't know). If you are giving your fave the benefit of the doubt, then also extend it to celebs you do not like.

On boycott (and there are different types), there is a list of brands put together by BDS, which is a Palestinian-led movement since 20+ years. The approach of BDS is that for boycott to be effective, it has to be targeted and consistent and you need masses of people to follow it. So many of these brands that celebs get bashed for is not on BDS list. You can't just ban all and sundry. There are other lists by other people but then who are they to speak for Palestinians? BDS speaks for Palestinians and they have been doing this for nearly 20 years. Pushing other lists that do not align with BDS or that people may not be able to comply with is hurting the aims of BDS.

Sodastream is on BDS list but not PepsiCo - the parent company which acquired Sodastream in 2018 - and which BDS had decided not to put on the list. If PepsiCo is to be boycotted that means boycotting all Pepsico brands including Pepsi, 7up, Mirinda, Lipton, Doritos, Cheetos, Quaker, Lays, Fritos, Aquafina, Gatorade, etc.

If you want to school celebs for not complying with the BDS list, be my guest. But if you want to follow your own list and then shame people for consuming, wearing, promoting brands on your list but not on BDS list is excessive.

that’s what I’m talking about , Palestinians have kept their list small because they want it to be realistic and achievable . These “activists” online are ruining it by making up their own things

I have read that book (Whitney my love) and she didn't copy it. That book is classic trashy romance from the 80s. That kind of old school rapey romance is what Gone with the wind was also all about. Those tropes are found in thousands of books written since. It is more likely that Nooran took her old fan fiction one shots she wrote of scenes in ITV soaps (IPKKND, Madhubala, etc.) and strung them together in one script.

When Nooran talks of taking so long to write TB, I think at some point the plot got away from her and she became stuck. Woh bas aur raita phailati gayi and in the end woh phaila hua raita usse sambhla bhi nahi.

Just look at the explanation. It's a sister company. It's different. It's like saying I hate you because I hate one of your distant relatives smiley29. Conglomerates don't work like that. If so then all the big companies in the world are owned by just a handful of companies and if we search for connections then we might end up banning every single western and even Desi products because most of these companies have bought stakes in luxury Desi companies as well.

More than nooran, people should be worried that siraj is associated with the show again

He seems to have a penchant for showing MR.. Someone mentioned that his last 3 shows have all had MR.. He is the one who has a misogynistic regressive take on any storyline...

Not that nooran is writing oscar worthy stuff with her "i took one month to write the last episode" crap but siraj is definitely more problematic of the two

Hiba bukari even called him out for sympathising more with the problematic toxic character of fq in fitoor over her.
