I don't know the story of that show and couple. I only know that they're the subject of some of the pørnographic fan fiction that was an open secret on India Forums for years. The rule prohibiting such stories existed until mid-2022, and the rule against glorifying rape or sexual assault still exists, but since the people in charge of enforcing rules had already violated them in their own stories, those stories are now at the top when the Fan Fiction section is sorted by Most Popular. And every author who fills out the request for a fan fiction book cover sees this prompt:

I went on to explore how a man who fell in love with someone that he had traumatized would deal with her ongoing troubles caused by his actions. Can he accept that his victim doesn't love him back? After he failed to win over the people who are important to her, how should he react to her rebuilding those relationships without him?

Exactly ... You cannot say SORRY FOR EVERYTHING and the pain is gone . I would have literally slapped nd told him to fZzx off. They literally ignore the trauma of female lead who had to go through so much.

At minimum, the offender should recognize each offence and its repercussions, admit fault facing everyone who was hurt (not just the love interest), and make an effort not to repeat it. Otherwise, "sorry" just means "let's pretend we're even."

After every time Gattu says he's sorry, he forms another misconception about Imlie^3, grabs her and spins her around, pins her against a wall as if she has no right to leave, manhandles her some more, and says the most cruel things his limited brain can invent about her moral character. He never breaks the cycle, never asks himself why Imlie^3 might need money, never learns patience to wait for Imlie^3 to explain, never dials down the English shouting and swearing, never thinks that Imlie^3 needs someone to comfort her the way she comforts him.

When Gattu refused to attend Shivani's engagement, he didn't protest Navya's insult to Imlie^3 the person, or even say that he couldn't remain where his wife had been insulted. He said that his wife being unwelcome was an insult to him.

Gattu told Imlie^3 that he would never forgive himself if his driving accidentally killed anyone.

Some reflection on his reckless endangerment of the person to whom he's speaking would have suited the occasion. He has saved Imlie^3's life a few times since he wished harm upon her and she was almost gang-raped, but does he acknowledge how casual he was about harming her before his remorse?

Gattu's character has changed like a flipped switch. We never saw him making the effort needed to change his attitude and outgrow his behaviour.

Gattu used to hate poor people and the idea of rewarding kindness with money. After one scolding from Imlie^3 about why women work at the bar, Gattu was quick to hand money to Mira because she looked poor.

Its very obvious the story got a big revamp. They brought the negativity down - with Bulbul Mami Sonali, made dhaadi izzat oriented and are trying to shape Agasthya after Arnav Singh Raizada...swinging between telling imlie off and caring for her. /unfortunately the execution is nowhere near IPKKND. They also are bringing traces of Imlie S1 with her being a daal for the C family. They need to start solving some plots. Too many open loops...

New guy Vishwa seems to be good.

The storytellers are presenting Vishwa's blackmail of Imlie^3 as if it's obvious that Imlie^3 would protect Gattu from the punishment for his crime.

Imlie^3 doesn't seem disturbed at all about Gattu killing someone with his irresponsible driving.

The only thing that matters to Imlie^3 is that the homicide shouldn't cramp Gattu's style.
