My first encounter with Salman, the actor, was early on into my Hindi Cinema journey, his 31st movie in the year when he would be 33-years-old.

I instantly liked him...and the character he played.

My first encounter with Salman, the private man, was in Mumbai, Bandra, Band Stand at the Barista, a café near his Galaxy house where he could be seen quite often and sometimes kindly obliged to meet a fan (the photo is from the Internet, not from me).

And then, my first encounter with Salman, the popular star, was at Holi, greeting a huge crowd of fans from the balcony. (This pic, too, is from the Internet, only a detail and not from that time I saw him.)
