Vanga is toxic piece of crap. But the women who applaud violence on women should take a bow.

Not having read the rest of the pages, I want to quickly respond to that.

What I got from reading here is that Ranbir is lauded by his female fans, not the movie as such...they wanted him success - and he got it. I somehow get the feeling that they don't like the movie but Ranbir's performance...and that is something I can understand (that fans overlook that Ranbir got used in a bad way). I wouldn't expect Ranbir fans to write negative things but keep them to themselves.

No one came out saying “I wanna be like ranvijay”…they said “ranbir killed it”…there is a massive difference between the two

I don't understand why you are denying what was clearly in the movie anyway watch at 1:52 mark

The woman doesn't like Ranbir and clearly isn't a fan. Till now, I was thinking that maybe distinction is there but this denial is worrying

2. I didn't degrade women anywhere in this thread. When they claim to be feminists and still celebrate violence against women, they will get called out. It's a very basic requirement to ask of people. Don't physically or sexually assault women and don't celebrate art which does it. Not to censor. But don't at least celebrate it.

3. Art does influence culture and vice versa. Anyone who claims otherwise is being disingenuous.

Art does influence culture. It's style, wardrobe, music etc. Why would people be influenced by a film that promotes acts which are illegal and prohibited by law? I haven't watched the movie but the things the character does, I am sure all are prohibited by law. If public is so malleable that they are encouraged to commit crime just because of a movie, the right question to ask is, why? Why they can't differentiate between real and make-believe lawless world? As I said earlier, there will always be some bad apples committing heinous crime but who is to say they would not have without fiction as well?

if a 20 year old tries to fly like a superman and hits himself in the head, you don't blame Superman movie. You point at his stupidity.

Let's not pretend like these movies celebrated the character, it showed that there's no happy ending to the toxicity unlike Kabir Singh and Animal

lol a character dying is meant to convince me of the moral right and wrong? Death is not a punishment …in films it can evoke sympathy and even be heroic …except darr, all the other films gave the toxic char a sympathetic lens …their death was tragedy not a win of good over evil…

And that is fine …I have no issue with that ..

My problem is the assumption that people laughing or whistling at some scenes is indication of them liking the act itself ….it’s an indication of liking the filmmaking not the act

Ppl whistled even when srk carved juhis name in blood on his chest …regardless of his end consequence ….they liked the performance not the moral compass of the character

You point to a biological impossibility and conflate it with social evils. Not the same thing. Justifying physical and sexual assault on women in movies has an effect.

So now you want to club all womankind on the basis of one stray opinion of a demented individual and hold every woman responsible for a movie made by a man exclusively for men?

Where have I see this thinking before, I wonder? smiley44
