I don't know if you would consider Taal to be a meek, tragic role but she definitely was not that in Dhoom 2 or Jazbaa.

Yeah me too, it's quite professional of her to have kept her commitment to work with brother of her Ex boyfriend after her bitter experience with him.

I haven't seen Taal, for some strange reason I can't tolerate it's most popular song. It just makes me puke.

I didn't mean meek or tragic in bad way, Meena Kumari, yester years actress was known for tragic roles

I liked Mrs Chatterjee too, but I liked Hichki a bit more. But yeah let's see, who wins the Filmfare for this year.

My predictions, considering the bias and predictability of Filmfaresmiley36, are (winners in Red):

Best Actor:
- SRK for Pathaan/Jawaan/Dunki
or Ranbir for Animal
-
Sunny Deol for Gadar 2
-
Ranveer for Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani
- Panjaj Tripathi for OMG2
-
Vicky Kaushal for Zara Hatke Zara Bachke/Sam Bahadur

Best Actress:
- Alia for Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani or Deepika for Pathaan
- Kiara for Satyaprem Ki Premkatha
- Adah for The Kerla Story
-
Rani for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway
-
Vidya for Neeyat

Best Supporting Actor:

- John Abraham for Pathaan

- Akshay Kumar for OMG 2
- Anil Kapoor for Animal
- Boman Irani for Dunki

Best Supporting Actress:

-
Deepika for Jawaan
-
Sanya Malhotra for Jawaan
-
Jaya Bacchan for
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani
- Simrat Kaur for Gadar 2
- Richa Chaddha for Fukrey 3

Best Film:
- Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani
- Animal
- Jawaan
- Gadar 2
- Dunki
- OMG 2

Best Actor Critics: Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail
Best Actress Critics: Rani for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway

Best Debut Male: Agastya Nanda
Best Debut Female: Khushi Kapoor & Suhana Khan (joint winners)smiley36

Let's bookmark this thread and revisit it later.

Your nomination list seems fairly accurate.

I can see Salman and Katrina netting nominations because they got good reviews for Tiger 3, especially Katrina. The Best Actress pool is a bit weak this year so that could help Katrina.

I don't know if Amisha's role was considered significant enough for her to get a nomination for Gadar 2.

I think Dimple Kappadia will get a nomination for Pathaan and actually she would be my choice for winner. I can see Shabana Azmi also getting a nomination for Rocky Aur Rani.

Similarly, I can see Dharmendra and/or Tota Roy Chowdhury getting nominations for Rocky aur Rani for the Best Supporting Actor category.

I'm not sure about actual winners but I think Shahrukh or Ranveer will win Best Actor.

I don't see Rocky Aur Rani winning Best Film. I'm not sure what will win (perhaps Jawaan) but I can't imagine there is any enthusiasm for Rocky Aur Rani to win. It's too lightweight a film and while it did well at the box office, that was mostly because of overseas and some consider it a flop domestically or at least an underperformer.

I wonder if she had better relations with Salman's brothers but I imagine she more or less broke off all ties with the entire family.

You should watch Taal but skip the song then. I would say it's worth it although that's partially for the music. I didn't realize that overseas it was a bigger hit than Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

Oh I see. Yes, she does play a lot of tragedy queen roles like Mohabbatein, Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Guzaarish, Sarbjit, Umrao Jaan, etc. She's well suited to such roles.

I am waiting for Animal and Dunki's releases to make the final update on this list.

I forgot about Dimple in Pathaan, and yes, she has high chances of getting nominated and even winning.

Dharmenda, Shabana, and Amisha's roles weren't that big in their respective films. I don't see them getting nominated, but let's see.

Salman and Katrina might get nominated, but they've never been taken seriously by Filmfare.smiley36 I doubt either of them could win.

I still feel this is SRK's year, and will be remembered primarily for Pathaan and Jawaan (and most probably Dunki), so corresponding actors/actress have high chances of winning.

I can see Taapsee getting a nomination for Dunki if her role is substantial and well-received.

I feel like Dharmendra and Shabana, especially the former, have a lot of prestige and starpower which could get them nominations. Especially if they want to have both Sunny Deol and his father nominated and at the ceremony. Perhaps even Bobby Deol could get a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Animal.

I feel bad for Salman that he's never been taken seriously by Filmfare but then again, with most of the movies he's made over the last few decades, it's not hard to see why he gets snubbed. Tiger has been his best role in ages.

I think SRK's nomination for Jawaan will have the edge because it was better received than Pathaan and SRK had a double role and both characters were beloved by audiences. Waiting for Dunki though.
