Like Chatrapati days!! Did you like Magadheera & Eega?
Chatrapati was decent...Bhanupriya saved that movie
Yes i really liked movies like Eega , Magadheera and Maryada Ramana
Everyone got to know about Sunil because of Pushpa and Jailer but I've liked his works ever since Mass [ 2004 movie]
Do you like Mani Ratnam? I find his movies sooo amazing. After so many years in showbiz he is as relevant & amazing as he was beforeOriginally posted by: Pete15rogmourey

I mean....he mostly tries to replicate Akira Kurosowa's style of cinematography and his plots are either inspired from the epiics or the Godfather
He gives out one good movie and the next 5 would be complete duds
He is a great director but he shouldn't have touched an epic like Ponniyn Selvan
Should just stick to making romantic movies , that's his forte ( some of his movies are problematic too)
That you can know better since you grew up on Ponniyan Selvan. For me it was a movie & I liked it. But for you it is your culture so you know betterOriginally posted by: Pete15rogmourey

But he has always touched epics & given it his own take on them.
Ravanan & Thalapathy was his version of Ramayan & Mahabharat only.
Did you like Thalapathy? Mani Ratnam also loves Karna like SWASTIK.

But Rajnikanth sir and the characterstics of Karna which was given for him in that movie was miles better than that of Kartik
But even MR took creative liberties and showed that the Draupadi of that movie loved Karna and then went to Arjun....what twisted version of MB is this?
But i really enjoyed it as a movie and it still holds up
And recently i got to know that Amrish Puri played the villian...i didn't know that it was him
Draupadi loving Karna is not some creative liberty that Mani Ratnam took. It is there in so many folklore. Some versions of Mahabharat tells that. You know there is a novel," Yagyaseni", it says the same thing.Originally posted by: Pete15rogmourey

Kahan you are comparing Rajni sir in Thalapathy with Kartik in VANSHAJ??
I also love this movie. It is gripping, engaging, & stands the test time.
Brilliant performance by everyone, Rajni sir shines as an actor!!

They watched it in Hindi. But I don't know how that particular song is more popular in its original version.Originally posted by: Pete15rogmourey
So they watched the entire movie in Telegu? They didn't even watch the Hindi version? What?
Other songs are popular in Hindi, like shrivali, Sammy or ae bitta. But may be people do not like the lyrics of the hindi version but find the tune catchy. So they conveniently ignore hindi version & dance on the lyrics they don't understand at all.

The Hindi version of that song was used in MS and the characters danced for that song
