and this for carisma: even though we've been on the opposite sides of the divide, I am glad we have been to chat without blowing a fuse. smiley36 A lot of it is thanks to you.

I was actually referring to another mutual friend who had shown me those PMs out to discredit and malign people with different POVs. I never thought much of it then because I wasn't looking for anything here other than some light-hearted fun and occasional discussions. I don't remember ever trying to make friends or initiating any conversation on PM with anyone... so it's strange getting told I am following anyone around. Zero interest there. For me, it's more fun coming at it alone, so there's no compulsion to agree/ disagree with anyone. Also, I'd think there are private forums if someone wants to exclude us, no?

I agree with the first paragraph, I think moderation has been fair. Even the new forum rules are clear.

Thank you, yes we do on political grounds etc find ourselves on the opposite on of the spectrum, we share views, put our points forward and possibly learn something new from one another. If these talks were not had, I would have no idea, of what's on the other side of the fence. If I feel I have something to bring to the table in defence then I come forward with it and like wise you do as well. End of the day we merit each other on how we are with each other and our general banters away from those subjects. We do not disregard each other or our points. What everyone must remember is that we have social and personal lives and we encounter these topics and more during our professional hours, would we behave aggressively, come across opinionated, disrespectful or unwilling to listen. No. Then the same rule can be applied here too. I do not believe that we hide behind our ID's online. I like to think that my social ID is also a good majority of representation of whom I am. Having an online ID to communicate with people across the globe does not give anyone a free pass to call people names. A countries democracy has placed 2 sides a right and a left wing, it shows there are people who exist with opposing views. The gov't understands this basic principle but people tend to want to sweep the other party under the carpet like they do not exist. You need two sides to debate in anything, then somewhere along the way new laws will be reformed, decisions will be based on something collectively. If the world sailed in one direction - we will not be going places. We need a bit of challenge, we need to explore, we need to conquer over something and we need a cause to fight for and whilst doing that we need to consider all things. Together like this we can unravel the history, conflicts and truths and to do that we need to talk, we need to bring our voice to the soundbar and be heard. But if people are being ridiculed and mouth taped then how will we ever come to know, how can we build a new trust and evolve as beings and away from our ancestral mistakes or traditional regression and towards the desired 'progressive' world some talk about. For growth it is important to have both commendation and criticism otherwise we will not mature nor cultivate and our achievements will be limited. For any healthy discussion or debate, there is a need for you and a need for me, and I hope we can lead the way by example how we stand on our boundaries and still shake hands. If some want to be led into believing or want to pass false narratives of my faltering or receding from my stances, then let them - because that is their fiction and not my reality.

If you are campaigning for the greater good for anything you feel compassionate about, then you are voice locked within the confinement of such 'privacy'. I like to be heard and I know you do as well, we are blessed and worthy of an exclusion from something that does not serve us with the right platform and I am grateful to those who recognise our worth and knew to exclude and not tie us anywhere, where our potential to broadcast our ideas, thoughts and voice reaches a stalemate.

In the last 8 months or so of knowing you, I have concluded that you do work alone and independently from any group or anyone. You are free spirited and go where the wind blows you, but with your own stance and determination intact. I have some very valuable friends here and I cannot express enough what they mean to me. In general I like harmony and peace between myself and other members and between all members with one another, but like you I also need to be at large and loose. I think before I take action and hence I am answerable to no one.

Yes please do not get into these undesirable forum politics. Be happy as you are.

I know it's too late to retrieve the links and I'm not asking for that , I'm just asking for a reason why this happened to gain some clarity about the issue

Hello someone please reply to thissmiley6

Also now that every forum page has 30 topics instead of the usual 20 topics per page can we also have 16 posts per thread page instead of the usual 8? So that the main threads won't get to page 150 so soon and everyone would get to post more too

Another suggestion is to have auto-lock threads when they reach page 150

How were these ideas? Good or bad?

Lol - sorry. I was going to say that's a really good idea, even if not for all posts - but some important ones.

I don't think that would work out.

Firstly, sometimes the TM may not be available to make the new thread on time. If the thread gets auto locked, how will they post the link in the previous thread? How would members be directed there?

16 posts per pages is too much I feel, 8 is too less. Somewhere in between like 10 would be good.

Thank you for the automatic notification I received when a DT member added a note to my post today. This is a useful feature and I expect to make full use of it.

I hope also to receive notifications when my posts are edited, moved from one topic to another out of context, or deleted outright.

Could we please also receive notifications that our fan fiction section comments got deleted, and by whom?

Vijay,

Just a thought - Which I was going to add in with the other stuff.

But this may be a little more urgent.

For more senior members, judging by their user status or for the number of years they have 'served' in IF, can they have some privileges where they can make posts, but 'Newbies', 'Groupie's,' can't reply to them. Or where they comment, they can have the option to allow them to have that choice.

A lot of the more senior members are as you know having issues with MID's and some members who are new but just like to create chaos.

Sorry Newbies, Groubies, nothing personal.

Also can we go a little more stricter on rules with racism, If someone calls Members Jihaadi or Terrorist, insults God from any religion - It is not just a post removal but a 40% WL and possible ban?

Encouraging b0mbing or killing of any minority/majority in the context of violence. These things will need more strict action and more immediate too.

If such cases are reported, then a report update to let the member know that action has been taken.

I was on one of the other social media sites the other day and noticed people making quite smiley3 remarks, You can report those accounts and it is dealt with.

Thanks.
