Using my first post's few lines to promote your forthcoming contest is improper.

Since private forums were newly introduced at the time, I included those lines to encourage members of private forums to submit details of any contests they were running so that other members could see them and take part.

We are requesting that you remove those lines immediately.

If your permission is required to announce an event in your forum, please consider this a request and tell me your reply. [your words]

It is customary in IF to send a PM to the relevant forum moderator in order to request permission to make any announcements or to run a contest in their forums. Such public mention isn't considered as a request for permission.

Instead of participating in other forums' contests, each of the forums you listed above has its own established procedures for holding story contests. All forum competitions are open to members and authors. You can send private messages to all the writers / authors, inviting them to participate in your contest.
