An innings of three starkly different phases at the end of which England get up to a formidable 339. They got off to a flying start thanks to Dawid Malan who batted superbly for his 87 off 74 balls before being run out. England were 133/1 after 20 overs, placed very strongly, but then they seemed to completely lose their way again, as they've done all tournament. They lost five wickets for 59 runs in what was an all too familiar batting collapse that left them in deep trouble. However, it was Ben Stokes - who else - who came to the rescue. He found a capable ally in Chris Woakes and the two of them put on 129 for the 7th wicket. Importantly, they helped England plunder 124 off the last 10 overs as Stokes went from 50 to 100 in just 20 balls, while Woakes brought up a quickfire fifty. Netherlands lost the plot at the death, failing to execute their lengths properly on what is a belter of a batting pitch. We'll be back for the chase in 30...

Dawid Malan: We always try to take the aggressive option, I just got a few nice half-volleys early on which I was lucky to put away. After that start, we were looking for a really big score and I think Netherlands bowled really well in the middle to restrict us and then Ben Stokes played a fantastic knock with Woaksy to get us to a good score. Personally I was like, 'oh no, not again, hopefully we can get something going' (at 178/5). But once again Stokesy stood up when needed and got us to a score that we're really happy with. To be a good international cricketer and to do it for long periods of time, you have to be able to soak up the pressure when it's needed. He soaks up the pressure unbelievably well and he's able to transfer the pressure when needed. To be able to do that so consistently over his career is a fantastic trade. (Enough on the board?) Hope so, it's gonna have to be. If some told us earlier in the game that we're getting 340, we'd have probably taken that. Hopefully that's enough runs for us to bowl them out and put a good win on the board.
