Not only in your family, but in so many families people get scared if they see a trans person, you know why this happens, I think sometimes they demand for huge amounts, specially jab shaadi yaa baccha hota hai toh they come and they demand like 10000+saree+gold+what not, sometimes if you don't give them they start cursing, this toh I have seen in front of me, they went to my neighbor's house, unke ghar baccha hua tha, and they were like 10000 chahiye aur saree bhi, now tell me, it is not possible for everyone to give so much money, even they should understand this naa, leave all that, some of them start cursing also, what's the point, who would like to be cursed for know reason.

However, if anyone is getting scared from them for no reason then its not good, they too are humans, btw whenever I came across them they were always polite to me.

Shikhandi is truly a curious case in MB. I am almost 90% they were trans, but the details are fuzzy. By fuzzy I mean, whether Shikhandi was born a man/woman and wished to transition to the other end of the spectrum, or they were born intersex and wanted to/were forced to conform to either a masculine or a feminine outlook, or maybe they were simply non-binary. Based on the variation in the above cases, I'd be either happy or sad with the yaksha-surgery story. Either way, their story ends pretty horribly, faced with Ashwatthama's barely hidden transphobia (and the obvious agenda to avenge Drona by killing Drupad's progeny in addition to the Pandavas').

As for kids, they can be adopted. Or maybe, in the MB universe, unlike our modern science, the ability to have kids is preserved with the magic-transition. His wife also seems to have been pretty young at the time of their marriage, and was pretty scared of Shikhandi on their wedding night (that makes me think Shikhandi would've been leaning more towards the feminine side of the spectrum, at least visually behind-the-scenes). I do respect her though, for after getting over the initial shock, she did stand by Shikhandi throughout their life (I think she was in the Kurukshetra area, or somewhere nearby if I am not wrong). That is, even though her father did put Shikhandi through what was I am sure an extremely humiliating checking procedure.

This is a genuine problem yes, but it's one that has been created by eons of mistreatment from the general society as well as the government. If 'bringing-luck-or-taking-it-away' to a house is the only positive opening to influence they are allowed in their life, why won't they try and maximise it?

I firmly believe with a unwavering and sensitized nationwide campaign to integrate the trans community within the wider society (via reservations, housing, education initiatives etc),will surely eradicate this within a single generation timespan.

It's a social media just like IF, but the format is more similar to fb or insta. I've found some truly brilliant stories and art on there, along with lovely people who thrive on the same interests as mine.

Kanakangi means golden-complexioned, used occasionally to describe either Radha or Parvati. The link I am not sure, as a competing FF site, will it go against IF rules. You can simply plug in my username in Wattpad, it'll take you to the correct place only.

And anyway, the stories are the same only in WattPad and in IF, if you want to read you can do so wherever you're comfortable.

or she was first born as a women then changed her sex to a male and hence Bhishma still considered him a women so he would have dropped his weapons, or he would have been born as a male but changed her sex to a female so Bhishma considered her a women in the actual sense and dropped his weapons. 1. Rukmini did not exist at all

2. Rukmini was an interpolation.

3. Even if she was added then also she was just 3rd-4th wife but not the first wife.

All the above they say because she did not play any important role like Jambvati or Satyabhama, she was just overglorified in the later text

Personally, from my reading, just like now we have Special Gopi of SB = Radha in the popular story trajectory, Krishna's wives' list also is very ambiguous, and they ended up in the current format only very recently.

As for Rukmini not playing an important role, well she didn't have much of a chance right? Krishna wasn't even on the official line to the throne, his son was. Actually, seeing from that angle, as Praduymna's mum she might've held some power, but overall she had limited scope.

Satyabhama got involved with Krishna's military campaigns (and overall made much more 'noise', was involved in the friend groups and challenged Krishna on some level)...Jambavati would've had her father nearby, plus Samba.

Rukmini, on the other hand, is probably the youngest among the wives (imo, (at least among S, J, and her) going by multiple shlokas that highlight her young age at the time of their marriage, and the other princesses were more or less older only), AND she's cut off from her family AND her brother absolutely despises Krishna (not her fault, but she bears the consequence of that nevertheless). So, to balance the status of Krishna's chief wife, handle her brother's aggression (since Rukmavati got married to P, I assume Rukmini had some contact with her brother) while fending off possible accusations of being a traitor (by talking to said brother), handle Krishna's mammoth of a household, and all of that being so young (she definitely had a HUGE age gap with Krishna, so there's that) that couldn't have been easy.

On top of that, she most definitely lost her first kid (whether you go with the magic theory or adoption, either way she loses the childhood of the kid, and is made to 'reconcile' with this stranger who all of a sudden she must call her son). I believe after all this, she decided she has had enough adventure for a lifetime, and just retires from the public view at some point leaving mostly Satyabhama to go with Krishna everywhere.

Over-glorification, could've definitely happened, since there was an overall morality shift over the last few centuries, such that Krishna's multiple partners went against the general societal shift towards monogamy. By holding up the-one-chief-wife, they would be able to effectively suppress or draw attention away from Krishna's early days with the gopis (with or without Radha, it was made clear that Krishna had relationships with multiple women there) and project him in a more similar light as Rama. Not very successful now, but I guess they tried.

Love was definitely there...so many love stories we have Rukmini-Krishna themselves (although at the beginning I suspect it was more hero-worship on Rukmini's side and a sense of duty on Krishna's part, but I choose to believe that true love eventually blossomed), I would consider Pandu-Kunti, Satyavati-Shantanu, Budh-Ila, Nala-Damayanti, Dushyant-Shakuntala (i know it went sour, but still I'm counting it). And so many couples that were mentioned in passing or were supporting characters...it's impossible that every single one of them were in loveless marriages.

However, you know how it gets right? If one half of the couple is powerless, oppressed, and external factors like war, disease or curses threaten to blow up their life constantly...then it does get kinda tough to maintain the same amount of love throughout your life. Now, if the writers chose to ignore existing emotion toh phir kya hi kar sakte hai.

Ohh! I was just trying to avoid putting the link here. I had searched my name once, for me it showed the Ehi Murare story right away so I thought it'd be easy to navigate from there. So sorry for that!

Thank you so much! I find personally that writing about the smaller characters gives a unique view into the main story line from a completely different perspective!

Heard about it, but I don't really trust Disney with Indian stories. Dekhenge aayega toh kya quality hai.
