Well, she isn't wrong technically. Audience wanted a twist that is truth. As a part of audience, this twist isn't pleasing to me either. Aarav is still annoying.
Its unpopular opinion but, I actually hope writers actually stop listening to audiences but, not entirely. Look for constructive criticisms which is done only by few while majority are like - we need a #KaViaan scene (even though situation is unfavourable for any such scene). Or, kick Katha out of the show. These are not criticisms these are just frustration which are of no meaningful use to writers. Feedback is important, frustrations even though it is valid, can be filtered out. Maya track was heavily influenced by the audience. Tweets, PMs to writers, directors, actors, literally, audience was controlling them. Writers didn't write with conviction this time.
They should write story as they used to do, write with conviction (As Aditi Quoted many times in past IVs). Till now, many things, which made the story more beautiful were writer's call not audience's. Lonavala Track, Shamita Track, Seema-Vaanya-Teji track and Amrita-Keith Fatherhood track (I like this track, its beautiful, not boring
and you can't change my mind
). Each of these track played a significant role in the story and is the reason why we feel betrayed and feel pain of the characters in the current track. If any one of these tracks were missing, the jouney would have felt incomplete.
Lonavala Track set-up their friendship, Shamita Track gave a reality check to Katha and also showed progress of Viaan's redemption, Fatherhood Track made Viaan a more compassionate person and accurately portrayed the feelings associated with fatherhood, Seema-Vaanya-Teji track gave closure to Viaan and showed how Katha was ready to support him in his darkest hours and set her old grudges aside for this newly changed person. There is much more to write about all these tracks but, this is a general brief. All these were writer's call.
I read old DTs, In Shamita's track Katha was heavily bashed like she is being bashed now. But, writers went with their conviction even if audience disappoved with it and now this track is remembered as a stepping stone for the relation of Kaviaan.
Same goes for Seema-Vaanya-Teji track. Only wrong part about it was press conference rest was acceptable. A very popular movie Jab We Met addressed this same exact thing 10 years ago. I find it funny how people are like Viaan should move on from Katha the moment Katha shouted on Viaan but, same audience said Viraaj should have stuck to Teji even if their marriage wasn't holding for 12 years. But, writers went with their conviction despite audience hating it, they did it. Now, many don't remember that track and slowly realized what happened was for good. For years Viaan thought his father betrayed them and just left and Vaanya suffered bcoz of Teji even if they had no fault. Viraaj is dead Seema will die soon, Perpetrators are gone, this suffering has to end no point in holding any grudges any further.
So, all these instances are testament to how writers conviction ran this show and made it our unique hatke show.
