Come to think of it. I think his character in DDLJ is somewhat like Jack. And Kajol can easily be the Rose to SRK’s Jack, but even his costar in Kabhi Ha Kabhi Na will work well.

Among the many things that contributed to Titanic’s phenomenal success one was DiCaprio and Winslet’s chemistry. Another was DiCaprio’s charm and boyish looks at the time. The fact that he was 22 when they shot the movie helped a lot too.

Titanic shouldn’t be touched but if Bollywood insists then hold genuine auditions and hire entirely based on merit. And mean it, don’t fake it.

That being said, and just for fun, young Shahid Kapoor and young Kareena (JWM days) could have been a good fit. Young Aamir and Juhi (QSQT days) also would have worked.

This thought came to my mind too that young shahid as a Jack but again Minty said actors in 20s,so I didn't mention his name.. I felt Young shahid and young Amruta Rao looked so good together in Vivah, so I feel they can make Jack and Rose possible...

Shahid and Kareena seemed odd pairing looks wise in jab we met initially when I heard of it but when I watched it I must say they made it work in the movie with their bantering and chemistry.

And James Cameron for me he is the best Director by far,what he does is magic. He also made Avatar one of the biggest franchises of the story without any big lead actors.

Agree. It will be extremely difficult if not impossible to do as good a job as Cameron did. And if I’m not mistaken Titanic at the time was the most expensive movie ever made. Of course it more than made up its budget but when you take that kind of risk you better put your 110% into it. Bollywood is too monopolized by favors and friendships and nepotism to focus on work for the sake of work.

I thought about Shahid and Amrita too but I don’t know if Amrita has the acting chops to go through all the phases of Rose on the ship. I’ve only seen her in Vivah and MHN. Kate Winslet is a great actress. Every time I watch Titanic I’m grateful Gwyneth Paltrow rejected the role. Can you imagine? 😱
