Of course the rally is justified. Beautifully written. Standing up against apartheid and genocide should never have to be explained. In fact, treating humans AS humans and looking past ethnicity and religion should be the norm. If only people took the time and effort to actually research the history of Palestinians, rather than rely on news that suits their own agenda and narrative. I know how these kind of research takes place.

To truly get a grasp of the Palestine and Israel history, people need to look back at the past 75 years, apply critical thinking skills and be prepared to challenge their individual as well as institutionalised prejudice against a certain community.

This 2009 report of the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission in Gaza is a good start. 450 pages of information written by UN officials and not merely an article that could be published by any Tom Dick and Harry. I already know that most people might not read it, but that’s okay. I’m just posting resources for anyone genuinely interested. I’ve already posted the link to the documentary. These are all resources and direct insight of the conflict. If people are comfortable turning a blind eye, then it’s simply because they don’t want their prejudice to be challenged. That can’t be cured.

Outstanding take from an educated, young Jewish woman who survived years of brainwashing from her own Jewish family. This is what critical thinking is. This is what happens when you put your education and life experience to good use and apply what you have learned instead of simply buying and believing any rhetoric against Palestinians.

I have a lot to say on this topic… I don’t claim to know everything on this topic so I’m looking to read into diff POVs offered… but I will say one thing this goes way beyond what happened just this month….

I read the discussion when it was still a part of BW forums and it was quite disappointing to see members sharing info that has been retracted but they were still sharing it… eg the 40 behead3d babies news was being shared again and again in this forum when the idf refused to confirm it and then the news outlets who shared it retracted it next day…
